Despite some of us being as old as (or older than) the famed Final Fantasy video game series, indulging in its awe-inspiring and sometimes melancholic soundtracks never feel out of place. For those among us who grew up with the games by publisher Square Enix on our Playstations (the first one, not the hi-tech, VR-enabled supermachines we have today), here’s one concert that we wouldn’t mind going to even if it means spending time away from the console for a few hours.

In celebration of the video game series’ 30th birthday this year, Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy, the official symphony concert tour of the series, is bringing to our shores for one night only on Oct 21 at The Star Theater. A new orchestral lineup entitled Final Fantasy 30th anniversary – Jiritsu, where the man himself, Nobuo Uematsu, will make a guest appearance so you know this is the real deal.

Those who didn’t manage to get tickets to last year’s sold-out concert in Singapore by Distant Worlds should get their credit cards ready for May 11, when tickets will go on sale on Sistic.
