ART: 1600 Pandas

As part of a global art project by artist Paulo Grangeon and WWF Thailand that aims to raise awareness for panda conservation, each one of these papier mache figurine pandas represent the shockingly low number of pandas currently left in the wild: 1,600. They'll be making their way through town starting at Sanam Luang and moving onto CentralWorld, Chong Nonsi Skywalk, BACC, Lumpini Park and various other spots in town before settling at Central Embassy.

ART: This is Not a Political Act

Jirawut Ueasungkomsate's first solo exhibition aims questions the effect repressive powers can have on art for both the creator and viewers. The audience will be guided through a pitch-dark room and given a torch to view the 15 low-resolution portraits on display.

For its fourth year, the annual short film festival received entrants from 92 countries with 9-minute films based around the theme of "Flower". Argentinian freelance photographer Walter Astrada showcases the black and white street photography taken he’s taken while touring the world on a Royal Enfield motorbike. So far, he’s ventured across India, South Korea, Russia, Mongolia and many more places since he left his home eight months ago. Astrada will also host a five-day photojournalist course starting Mar 14.

GIGS: Last Dinosaurs + Panama

Australian indie music takes over the night when the indie rock band from Brisbane behind the successful 2012 In a Million Years album returns to Bangkok to promote their latest album, Wellness.
