American indie act Ducktails is heading to Bangkok, gig organizers Have You Heard? confirmed today.
The band will play Rockademy on Nov 17, supported by Parasol (South Korea) and Temp. (Thailand).
Tickets go on sale for B1,100 or B2,000 for two on Oct 4, rising to B1,300 on the door. See haveyouheard.live.
Ducktails started in 2006 as the "bedroom" project of Matthew Mondanile (also known as the former guitarist for New Jersey's indie-pop band Real Estate), who released a slew of cassettes and 7-inch records on various independent labels.
Since then the project has been fleshed out to become a four-piece band and released six albums, including this year's Jersey Devil, as well as other highly rated full-lengths like 2011's Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics and 2009's Landscapes.
The band's breezy brand of indie-pop often draws descriptions like "hypnagogic pop" and "lo-fi," as much in reference to its ramshackle recording quality as the songwriting.
Until November, here's a taste of Ducktails' dreamy sounds:
