CONCERTS: Damien Rice

The popular Irish singer/songwriter known for his soulful voice and stripped-down, emotional perforances takes the Bangkok stage to perform songs from his latest album, My Favorite Faded Fantasy. Aside from brand new hits, “I Don’t Want to Change You” and “The Greatest Bastard”, expect fan favorites from previous albums including “Cannonball” and “The Blower’s Daughter”.

ART: Bukruk Exhibition

This January saw some of Europe and Asia's best street artists take over the walls of Bangkok as part of the Bukruk Urban Arts Festival. You may have seen some of the awesome artworks that still adorn the walls around Bangrak. But if you just can't get enough, the works of nine street artists from the festival is exhibited at the luxury mall throughout the month. The artists include: Florence Lucas (France), Le dernier Cri (France), Lolay (Thailand), Kult (Thailand), Daan Botlek (Netherlands), Motomichi Nakamura (Japan), Saddo (Romania), Daen Sudsakon (Thailand), Daehyun Kim (Korea), Fikos (Greece) and Aitch (Romania).

GIGS: Save the Beatles Vol. 5

It’s all about the greatest hits from the world’s most popular rock band at this bar's fifth edition of its tribute series to the Fab Four. Expect eight local bands covering household tunes ranging from “Help” to “Here Comes the Sun.” Tickets are B100 at the door.

MARKETS: The Garden of TFest

Now in its second last weekend, this pop-up market set in the center of Sukhumvit is popular, to say the least. On top of over 250 booths selling clothes and accessories all brought under a weekly rotating theme, there's also plenty of food and drinks to gaurantee a one-stop destination.

NIGHTLIFE: Road to Ultra Thailand Pre-party

The official pre-party to one of the city's biggest EDM festivals, taking place the following week, welcomes the British house and electronic duo, Third Party, to take over the stage with their best tracks.

FILM SCREENINGS: Phee Chai - My Hero

An event dedicated to exploring and discussing the conflict between civic duty and aspects of personal life for Thai men, such as their sexuality. The film follows the life of Ake who fears his upcoming military draft due to both his secret homosexuality as well as the thought of leaving behind his dependent mother and younger brother. The screening will be followed with a discussion led by Dr. Kasem Petpinant, a philosophy lecturer at Chulalongkorn University, who will cover the topic “Freedom of rights between citizenship and the military duty.”

WHY NOT: Creative Citizen Talk 

The Stock Exchange of Thailand invites 10 of the city’s creative leaders to share talks and discussions on their success. ART: Sleepover #2: Discomfort in Southeast of Now

One of the city’s coolest libraries presents the second edition of their Sleepover Project, inviting artists from around the region to take over the space to explore sensitive art-related topics. This edition inviates a group of Southeast Asian art historians to present their journal, Directions in Contemporary Modern Art, which explores how cultural identity, geographical limitations and history all come to affect art in the region.

WORKSHOP: Tie Dye Denim

Learn bleaching and dyeing techniques for transforming a piece fo denim into something stylish and unique. All equipment, snacks and beverages included. The workshop runs as part of the art installation "2012-2555, 2557" by artist Korakrit Arunanondchai which explores denim as a universal fabric.
