The Bangkok performing arts community is busy this rainy season (See out roundup here). Launching this weekend is an experimental performance of “An Epilogue to the Malady of Death,” along with a series of film screenings dedicated to the French playwright of the ‘60s-’90s, According to Marguerite Duras, at Thonglor Art Space. This traveling film festival kicks off in Bangkok at SF World Cinema, CentralWorld, this Jul 10-19, featuring 16 feature films and two short films produced by 14 EU Member States. All films will be screened in their original languages with Thai and English subtitles. Tickets are B120, available at the Box Office or online at www.sfcinemacity.com. Highlights include: Girlhood (France), Tresspassing Bergman (Sweden), Phoenix (Germany), Mr. Humblot (Luxembourg), Melody (Belgium), Beautiful Youth (Spain), The Hour of the Lynx (Denmark) and ’71 (United Kingdom). Opening this week on Jul 10, 6pm at Soy Sauce Factory is a new exhibition titled Second Nature, featuring the work of Chiang Mai-based artist Mauy, who uses the medium of street art to create images of wild animals in an emotive style similar to children's book illustrations.
The Sanamluang Music pop-rock band takes the stage at Live House Studio, with special guests Better Weather, Tony Phee, Teen8GradeA, Yellow Mustard and more special guests TBA. Tickets available at 081-930-3633. Show starts at 6pm.

Taking over the Bangkok Convention Center the market will showcase the same range of quality online brands, only this time they’re promising discounts of 50-90-percent on most items.

Silom's hippest new bar/art space ends the week with some hip-hop and Latin house music by DJ Mizuyo and MnKizzle. Food will be provided by Cactus BKK Food Truck. One taco set gets you a free tequila shot between 7:30-8:30pm. Margaritas and mojitos will be served at the chilled-out venue all night.
The fabulous drag queen of Bangkok Pangina Heals headlines the night in her fantastic costumes at the Stranger Bar, giving out lots of free shots and sparkling wines. Music provided by DJ Danny Dee. Pangina also takes over the gay bar every Wednesday night.
A quaint new flea market at P9 Community Mall, to be held between 3pm-9pm offering food, crafts and live music, plus interesting jewellery, plate-painting and small plant workshops.
There’s beauty in antiquity, which is why we’ll make time to stop by the Brooklyn-style flea market Made By Legacy this weekend, Jul 11-12. Moving to the unseen sixth floor of Central Embassy, the market promises a huge range of rare items, including vintage furniture, old watches, vinyl records, custom bikes and classic cars, as well as a whole lot of denim. Due to popular demand, the second installment of the Kolour crew’s new nightlife concept Sunn will be rocking Live RCA this Saturday, Jul 11, this time featuring a headliner direct from Berlin, Robosonic. The 2/F of Speedy Grandma, known as Speedy Grandchild, which provides a platform for new talents, opens a new exhibition this Jul 11 at 7pm, featuring the work of Kasiti Sangkul and Theerapat Wongpaisarnkit on their perspectives towards women, love and sex conveyed through video installations, comic drawings and sound installation.
Singha's infamous pub crawl moves to a classy new venue, with exclusive Singha deals at all outlets, plus free drinks and snacks at Hyde & Seek, Tales of Gold Mine and 1881 by Water Library. Maroon 5 aren’t the only ones deserving of two Bangkok shows. One of the most successful K-pop groups of all time, Big Bang, will take over Impact Arena this Jul 11 (7pm) and Jul 12 (4pm) for Thai VIPs as part of their 2015 World Tour [MADE]. Bangkok cat lovers can head over to yoga studio Yogatique Bangkok this Sunday, Jul 12, for a special yoga with cats experience. Held in collaboration with PAWS Foundation, Karma Yoga Class - Yoga & Cats will give you a chance to spend quality time with cute shelter cats while doing yoga for 90 minutes, from 10am-11:30am, with the aim of raising awareness for Bangkok’s homeless cat population. Those interested can also adopt. Students can donate as much as they wish to join the class, open for yogis of all levels, and all proceeds will go towards the foundation. Not free this week? The studio will continue to host Sunday Karma classes at 10am, with a different foundation taking part every month.
This Sunday, Jul 12, is your last chance to catch this exhibition on the ninth floor of the BACC, featuring surreal and realistic artworks by local artists under the theme "Our Beloved Princess," in celebration of HRH Princess Maha Chakri's birthday. Each
