Bonjour French Fair 2014

If you can't wait to shop before the weekend arrives, this fair promoting French and European goods and services in Thailand kicks off on Thursday, featuring tastings of fresh pastries, imported wines, Champagne and cognac and cheese. There'll also be deals on French fashion and decorative items, and special accommodation packages. This year also sees a special pavillion, Ciao Italia, that features products from Italy and a pair of Bangkok-Paris round-trip tikets are up for grabs with every B2,000 purchase.

Chun Kawara's Bangkok Farewell Exhibition 

The Japanese artist shows off his new works from his stay in Thailand at this multi-day exhibition. Signed prints will be up for sale. Donations are encouraged to support the return of the artist to Fukushima, where he has actively taken part in art projects in the community, in the aftermath of  the disasters of 2011. Opening party on Dec 11 at 7pm, with special musical artists on Dec 12, guest chefs on Dec 13 at 6pm, and the closing open house day on Dec 14.

Kai Kai Sui - Bo.Lan Pop-Up Kitchen

House of Walker

If you haven't noticed already, Parc Paragon has been taken over by the House of Walker since Wednesday, and will be holding exclusive concerts every night from now through Jan 3, featuring local artists such as Musketeer, Palmy, Thaitanium, Scrubb, New-Jew, Tattoo Color, 25 Hours and Mild. Friday (Dec 12) 

Bangkok International Street Show

Thailand’s biggest busking festival returns this weekend to take over Lumpini Park with mime, acrobatics, music, dance, circus and stunt shows from 3-9pm each day. The Bangkok International Street Show features a massive international lineup of acts like the Japanese “Juggler King,” Street illusionist Diogo, one-man circus performer Jakeflash, Japanese/Korean Butoh duo performers, San Francisco-trained clowns Chimchim Service and local reggae group Walrus.

Hide by Ren Hang

Expect lots of pubic hair and naked flesh when controversial Chinese photographer Ren Hang opens his first Bangkok exhibition this Friday Dec 12 at Soy Sauce Factory. Hang has made waves across the world for his provocative, candid and sculptural approach to nude photography, as featured in Dazed & Confused and Purple magazines. What’s more, the Charoenkrung venue has also just launched its own on-site restaurant.

This cycling competition and fair, kicking off at Suvarnabhumi Airport, will offer booths selling bike parts and accessories. The final round kicks off on Sunday, and we hear that the winning trophy will be pretty cool.

Celebrated artist Somboon Hormtienthong returns with his latest exhibition on Saturday, opening at 6pm, recording the places that he's visited on his motorbike over the past two years.

The first fair of its kind in Thailand brings swing culture to town, starting at 4pm at the Hop, with a vintage sale, big-band music, talks, movies, intro dance lessons and swing-related workshops.

Winter Market Fest 2014

Winter is the time for Christmas markets. But no need to fly all the way to Europe— just head over to Sukhumvit Soi 77 this weekend for the annual market by Sansiri, lighting up the San Samran Bridge from 4-10pm both days. There’ll also be a mini concert by Burin Boonvisut, lead singer of Groove Riders.

4th Thailand International Half Marathon

No more lie-ins this Sunday. With participants from 32 countries in last year's edition, this car-free road race marathon on elevated Boromratchonni Road starts and finishes at Rama 8 Bridge on the Thonburi side of the river. The winner receives the King's trophy. We hope you managed to register on time for this popular race.
