The ever-popular Singapore International Jazz Festival is back for a fourth edition, running Mar 31-Apr 2 at the outdoor event space at Marina Bay Sands.

You’ll probably be fighting for tickets to sets by the Grammy Award-winning Corinne Rae Bailey (Friday) and Esperanza Spalding (Saturday). We’ll be clearing our schedules for respected UK DJ and musical curator Gilles Peterson who will be sharing the stage with the Zara McFarlane Band (who did that amazing, jazz version of The Clash’s “Police and Thieves”) on Saturday. For something flamboyant and out-there, check out American electric bassist Nik West’s set (and style!) on Sunday.

World music fans should not miss the set by Senegalese Afropop superstar Youssou N’Dour (Saturday). And rounding things out is Canadian musician David Foster, who’s coming with a roster of big names, like former Rufus diva Chaka Khan and crooner Brian McKnight (Sunday).

Night owls can catch the Late Show, happening indoors on Friday and Saturday nights and offering a more laid-back vibe with a roster that includes British acid jazz band Incognito (who are no strangers to Singapore), British electronic duo Basement Jaxx and drum and bass legends Rudimental.

And if you’re feeling fancy, head to their inaugural Lanson Champagne Terrace, where you can sip on bubbly and have a clear view of the outdoor stage from up top. Other alcohol partners this year include PengWine from Maipo Valley, Tiger, Erdinger and Strongbow Ciders.
