British rockers Alt-J are heading to Bangkok
Finally.
English indie-rock band Alt-J are heading to Bangkok, local concert promoter Medium Rare Live confirmed over the weekend.
The Leeds-hailing three-piece will bring tracks like "Breezeblocks" and "Every Other Freckle" to Thailand on Nov 27, though the venue and the ticket details are yet to be confirmed.
Formed in 2007 by Joe Newman, the band found early success with debut release An Awesome Wave winning the Mercury Prize in 2012, an award which honors the best British album of the year. Follow-up album This is All Yours topped the UK music charts in 2014.
Known for their quirky yet catchy guitar pop, the band is currently touring in support of their third album, this year's Relaxer, which has spawned the hit "3WW."
With several previous tours to Southeast Asia bypassing Bangkok, Alt-J have long been on the wish-list for local indie fans. For example, the band just played the Bali debut of the UK's Bestival boutique music festival on Sep 30-Oct 1.
Good news is November is not too far away. Sample Alt-J's "Breezeblocks" below:
