As part of our Off-the-Beaten-Path Weekends series, we look at an exciting improv dance gig, an upcoming Bangkok race, a vibrant Old Town beach club, an after-hours khao tom institution, and what will no doubt be one of the biggest island parties of the decade.

Music
Roscius

Not got tickets to Wonderfruit? Don't worry, because one of its most exciting acts is also dropping by Bangkok to take over Dark Bar this Dec 16. The French-born producer's sound is all about improvisation and has been described as "world minimal disco", featuring bells, organic keyboard, voice samples and various percussive instruments. He'll be supported by Thai techno, house and minimalism DJ Sanju Hargun.

Tickets are B300 at www.ticketmelon.com/event/roscius or B400 at the door.

Flavor Kick
Khao Tom Fah Mui

In search of a late-night bowl of khao tom after partying? Our pick in the Old Town has got to be Khao Tom Fah Mui on Phra Sumen Road. Sure, the food can sometimes take a long time to roll out of the kitchen, but their crispy omelet, fried salted olive with minced pork, stir-fried morning glory and stir-fried clams with roasted chili paste are always worth waiting for.

587 Phra Sumen Rd, Wat Bowon Niwet, 02-282-1206

Takeoff
Leo Full Moon Party

Break out of Bangkok for Christmas and New Year and head to Koh Phangan for what’s bound to be the biggest Full Moon Party ever. Or make that two Full Moon Parties, since this month, the legendary nightlife event takes place both Dec 25 & Dec 31. Leo beer has also partnered with two of the best party spots on Haad Rin Beach, cactus Bar and Paradise, to offer up drink promos all-night long (B50 for bottles of Leo at Paradise, B80 at Cactus) along with fire shows, DJ sets and performances from the Sexy Leo Dancers.

BK x Singha's Off-the-Beaten-Path Weekends series rounds up the crazy, yummy, adventurous and underground things happening around Bangkok and Thailand every month, as well as digging beneath the surface of the city to bring you up to the moment on hidden new openings and time-honored local institutions.
