March is looking like a pretty busy month full of festivals, concerts and things to binge watch.

Whether you're in need of some soulful jazz tunes, love exploring the city's cocktail scene or want to party it up, there are tons of things to see, do, eat and buy in March.

Singapore Cocktail Week

TV
For once we’re on par with US TV screenings. Season 3 of Netfix political drama series House of Cards is showing one episode every Wednesday. Mar 4.

MUSIC
Get groovy at Sing Jazz Festival with headliners like Chaka Khan, Grammy winner Bobby McFerrin and UK pop starlet Jessie J. Plus there are local acts like The Steve McQueens and TAJ, too. Mar 5-8.

DRINK
It’s eight days of drinking at Singapore’s inaugural Cocktail Week with workshops, cocktail tours, pop-ups, guest bartenders and special drinks created just for the occasion. Mar 7-14.

FAIRS
The Local People return for another market and this time, it's all about entrepreneurs. Expect more locally-made items, artisans peddling their food and live acoustic music. Mar 7.

Singapore Design Week

ART
And it’s two weeks of everything design-related at Singapore Design Week. Local and international designers as well as creative agencies get together for trade shows, conferences, exhibitions and workshops like SingaPlural and Maison & Objet Asia. FILM
The Malaya Black and White film series returns, this time with two rarely-seen and previously banned films set in Singapore. Jack White tells the story of a moral pimp while Pretty Polly depicts 1960s Singapore as a hedonistic playground for adults. Mar 11 & 18.

EAT
Check out the urban-farmed produce grown by the folks behind Edible Gardens at The Growell Pop-Up. There are workshops, exhibitions and dinners by the likes of Morsels and Cajun Kings. Until Apr 19.

FILM
Pop in to The Projector for the month-long Coen Brothers Film Series. The cinema is showing nine works including favorites like Fargo, True Grit and A Serious Man. Don’t miss The Big Lebowski night (Mar 21) where you get to dress up as characters from the film and drink White Russians. Mar 10-31.

MUSIC
A night of soundbites from various genres, there are familiar faces from the local scene at Musicians Unite! like Oli Hughes, Justin Bannister and Timothy Patrick. Mar 13.

OH! Open House

FESTIVALS
One of Asia’s biggest music festivals, Future Music Festival makes Singapore its new home. Party with huge names like Avicii, Fatboy Slim and Nero, so no doubt you’ll be dancing the night away to EDM hits. Mar 13-14.

PARTY
Zouk brings huge Berlin-based DJ Thomas Gold for a night of explosive sets featuring his progressive house and dance anthems. Mar 14.

ART
After a two-year absence, this art-in-the-heartlands project is back. OH! Open House invites emerging Singaporean artists like Guo Yixiu to install art in actual residences in Joo Chiat. Mar 14-15, 21-22, 28-29.

CONCERTS
Vocalist and songwriter Rufus Wainwright plays his greatest hits after the recent release of his studio album Vibrate: THe Best of Rufus Wainwright. No doubt he'll be playing his heart-wrenching rendition of "Hallelujah". Mar 17

MUSIC
Bring out your inner musician at Blue Monks Jazz Jam where you can join resident band The Blue Monks and their jazz, funk and swing tunes. Just bring your own instruments. Mar 17.

Magner's International Comedy Festival

CONCERTS
The Gathering brings Norwegian musician, best known for being one half of duo Kings of Convenience, Erlend Oye. He’ll be performing songs from his second solo album Legao. But if a throwback is what you need, catch twice-inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Crosby, Stills & Nash who will perform classics like "Deja Vu" and Helplessly Hoping." Mar 19.

COMEDY
Magners Singapore International Comedy Festival
is back with more international and local acts performing in pubs and bars all along Circular Road. Expect comedians like Singapore-based improv comedian Joanna Sio and the controversial Kiwi Andre King, who has performed in places like Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Mar 19-21.

EAT
For those with a sweet tooth, head down to Gelato World Tour where 16 chefs will vie for bragging rights to “World’s Best Gelato”. There are also gelato-themed dinners. Mar 20-22.

LITERARY
Storyteller Kamini Ramachandran shares traditional Indian folk tales at Shakti: Women Behaving Badly--Tales from Indian Folklore, with a focus on the way “bad girls” in olden times dealt with fear, sexuality and relationships. Mar 20.

CHARITY
A non-profit dog shelter needs to rehome over 50 dogs at Gentle Paws Adoption Drive when their Pasir Ris lease expires. Check out cute pups and older dogs and hopefully bring one home. Mar 21-22, 28-29.

Savour

SPORT
Run with over 200 visually-, mentally- and physically-challenged people at Runninghour: Run So Others Can. There’s even a 1km blind run where you run in pairs while one person is blindfolded and the other acts as a guide. Mar 22.

EAT
A favorite among foodies, Savour is back with more fine dining nosh at an affordable price point. See chefs like Tippling Club’s Ryan Clift, Restaurant Andre’s Andre Chiang and Mod Sin favorite LG Han of Labyrinth. Mar 26-29.

DANCE
The production, Repertory Platform, by RAW Moves comprises two performances: one by Singaporean choreographer Ebelle Chong and the other by Taiwanese choreographer Chang Chien-Hao. Mar 26-28.

NIGHTLIFE
Celebrate Kyo’s second anniversary with its Future Tokyo Programme where five DJs like Godwin P, Norman C, Shigeki, Ramesh K and Kenneth F take turns to helm the decks with their house beats. Mar 27.

CONCERTS
Danish alternative rock band Mew returns with tunes from their upcoming album set to drop in April. But don’t worry, they’ll be performing old faves like “Comforting Sounds” and “Snow Brigade.” Mar 30.

DRINK
If you’re still reeling from post-Cocktail Week blues, head to Porstdown’s DSTLLRY. A Japanese omakase-style cocktail bar and small plates restaurant.
