February may be the shortest month of the year, but it is every bit as packed, with concerts, markets, networking events, book fairs and lots more. Here's how to spend the week.

More than 30 local and international artists and designers will be showcasing objects made from dismantled existing toys at Kult’s new show, Choking Hazard: An Exhibition about Toys, which explores controversial issues in the world of toy-making, like mass production, consumerism and gender. Through Mar 18

DRINK
Dunlop Street's cute little Mexican joint Chimichanga is throwing a little mixer for anyone who works or lives in Little India. Come and mingle with people from this charming neighborhood from 6:30pm onwards. Feb 20

HEALTH
Ever thought about being a yoga instructor? Head over to New Angle Yoga studio on Petain Road as yoga instructor Dr. Trish Corley leads a free Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga class and introduces a 200-hour yoga training program that's taking place later this year. Feb 20

ART
This fifth edition of the Singapore Biennale, titled “Atlas of Mirrors” is showcasing 58 pieces and installations from 60 artists (10 of which are Singaporean) and three art collectives. Now you can rent a bike for free to cycle across the seven different venues. Through Feb 26

Joe Satriani

CONCERT
Joe Satriani is returning to Singapore for the second time since 2014, this time as part of his Asian “Surfing to Shockwave” 2017 tour. Besides his new releases from Shockwave Supernova, he's also added a couple of gems from his 30-year career to his repertoire for the night, which includes songs like “Big Bad Moon”, “Not of this Earth” and more. CONCERT
Your mom's favorite country singer and five-time Grammy winner James Taylor is in town with his all-star band to perform some of his greatest hits like "Fire and Rain", his rendition of Carole King's "You've Got a Friend", "Carolina In My Mind" and more at The Star Theatre. Feb 21

EXHIBITION
Prolific Burmese artist Htein Lin dives into his past as a political prisoner who was put behind bars for his pro-democracy beliefs at his exhibition, Recovering the Past. Through Mar 5

EXHIBITION
Calling all Harry Potter fans—if you’re in withdrawal after reading Cursed Child and Fantastic Beats, time to ooh and aah over some Harry Potter stamps, prop replicas, toys and other memorabilia from private collectors all around the world at the Singapore Philatelic Museum. Through Jun 25

THEATER
The award-winning musical Chicago, set during Prohibition-era United States, has finally hit our shores. Go on a journey with nightclub singer Roxie Hart as she sings her way to become the star she always wanted, meeting characters like double murderess Velma Kelly and charming lawyer Billy Flynn, along the way. EXHIBITION
Marvel's AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition is on display at the Science Centre. Pretend you're a recruit at The Avengers headquarters and go on a behind-the-scenes journey into the lives of Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow and Ant-Man. Through Mar 5

The Beast

PARTY
We might not have a grand Mardi Gras event but The Beast is throwing their own rendition of it as part of their third year anniversary. Come dressed in your best costume and chow down on New Orleans inspired food like jambalaya, gumbo and gator ribs, boozy Mardi Gras inspired cocktails, live performances and more. Feb 23

FILM
Revel in #blackexcellence at the Singapore premier of Hidden Figures, about the unsung African-American women at NASA who worked behind-the-scenes during important US space missions. Feb 23

FOOD
In case you're wondering, Kilo Kallang is still at the same place in Kampong Bugis, and their successful "Cooking Beats" series is making a comeback this month. The theme for this installment is "roots", and helming the kitchen are Kilo's founders, who'll be preparing a hearty seven-course meal of Puerto Rican dishes. Feb 23

SCUFF: The Eyes of My Mother

FILM
After two successful editions, the Singapore Cult and Underground Film Festival (SCUFF) is back once again to showcase a slew of eclectic, not-for-the-mainstream type of films on screen. This year’s line-up is looking pretty exciting, with an untamed mix of films across a spectrum of genres, like American horror film The Eyes of My Mother and famous Blaxploitation flick Coffy. PARTY
Australian DJ Juliet Fox, who's made her rounds on the European club circuit and is currently based in Berlin, helms the deck at Headquarters by the Council with her unique combination of deep ,dark techno and tech house. Feb 24

HEALTH
Start the day with a quiet one-hour session of classic yoga at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, led by Saakalya Yoga instructor Alexandra Schmutterer. Tickets are $35 for one session and $300 for 10. Feb 24

DRINK
Freehouse is giving some love to lagers by showcasing a handful of them on tap, such as the earthy and spicy Maisel Landbier from Germany, the fruity and slightly malty Adnams Dry Hopped Lager, Rauchpils from the esteemed Danish brewery, Mikkeller HQ, and more. Feb 24

DANCE
Learn a thing or two from Cheryl Wu, who'll be taking over Lime House to hold a bachata class for their Latin Fiesta: Afro Dance Edition. Following that, enjoy a night of social dance as DJ May May, Manu and Roger take you through a night of afro beats, reggaeton and hip hop on the second floor, and bachata, cha-cha, kizomba and of course salsa music on the third. ART
Local embroidery artist Jamie Teo brings two mediums together for the upcoming SingLit Stitch Exhibition, as she showcases 15 different stitchworks, each with an excerpt taken from a work of Singapore literature. Feb 24

DRINK
Chopsuey Bar's doing a pop-up at Ann Siang's PS. Cafe, dishing out specialty cocktails like the Ann Siang Lady, Eastern Dragon and more, and small plates like chargrilled octopus and Wolfberry leaf & chicken dumpling to go along. Feb 24

FILM
Singapore film festival Red Dot Cinema, dedicated to Asian shorts, is bringing seven award-winning titles from Singapore and the region, touching everything from issue-based documentaries to animations, to stylish co-working space, JustCo. Free popcorn will be served at the festival. Feb 24

PARTY
It's the final weekend to check out the works for this year's Singapore Biennale, and they're going out with a bang by throwing a closing party, turning Singapore Art Museum's courtyard into a melting pot of art and music. Resident DJs of Woo Bar and electronic musician Jeff Hue will be on music duty for the night. Feb 24

FOOD
Chef-owner Maksut Askar of esteemed Istanbul restaurant Neolokal is taking over Maggie Joan's for two nights to create a repertoire of dishes made using traditional Turkish home recipes and flavors. Reservations can be made exclusively via Chope. Feb 24-25

BOOK
Book nerds and lovers of all things literary, check out all the book fairs and other literary activities lined up for the #BuySingLit weekend, an event organized by the NAC more than 30 literary non-profits, publishers and booksellers. More details hereFeb 24-26
