There’s never a dull day in Singapore. Week after week, the city is dotted with a myriad of exciting events to go for. This week, keep yourself busy with the various headlining and fringe activities at Singapore Design week, catch a play or two or have your fill of durian when Goodwood Park’s annual durian fest returns on Friday.

Monday, Mar 6

FESTIVAL
Returning for its fourth edition is the annual Singapore Design Week (SDW). This year, there are over 120 headlining and fringe activities, including anchor events like the new-format SingaPlural and the International Furniture Fair. Through Mar 12

THEATER
Pangdemonium is restaging The Pillowman after the last successful run in 2007, directed by Tracie Pang once again. The story follows a writer who is arrested by two detectives and questioned for the stories he has written which bear a strong resemblance to the murder cases happening around town. Through Mar 12

FESTIVAL
Part of this year’s i Light Marina Bay, Gastrobeats will see the old school Uncle Ringo carnival, F&B options from Skewer Bar, A Poke Theory and Starker, and on the weekends, performances by Disco Hue, THELIONCITYBOY and more. Alternatively, you can join the silent party by Silent Disco. Through Mar 26

CONCERT
French surf-rock and pop band La Femme will be in town to showcase their unique sound which is highly influenced from ‘80s synth wave and nuvo-surf, and ‘60s pop and glam rock. Touted as “the future of French rock”, the band consists of five guys and fronted by one girl (lead vocalist). Mar 7

FESTIVAL
The sixth edition of returning designer platform SingaPlural is all about collabs this year. Highlights include a collaboration between Uniqlo and designers from Machineast and Roots to showcase the brand's AIRism clothing line with a series of mini games and installations. Mar 7-12

EXHIBITION
More than 30 local and international artists and designers will be showcasing objects made from dismantled existing toys at Kult’s new show, Choking Hazard: An Exhibition about Toys, which explores controversial issues in the world of toy-making, like mass production, consumerism and gender. EXHIBITION
Calling all Harry Potter fans—if you’re in withdrawal after reading Cursed Child and Fantastic Beats, time to ooh and aah over some Harry Potter stamps, prop replicas, toys and other memorabilia from private collectors all around the world at the Singapore Philatelic Museum. Through Jun 25

TALK
If you're looking to get inspired at this year’s Singapore Design Week, head over to the PechaKucha night where you can meet some of Singapore’s most creative individuals like Aik Beng Chia and Ori Takemura. They'll be presenting their works and stories in 20 slides (each slide is 20 seconds). Mar 8

THEATER
Making its premiere in Singapore thanks to the Singapore Repertory Theatre, Constellations, sold out on Broadway and in the West End, focuses on Marianne and Roland, a brilliant physicist and a beekeeper as they fall in love (and out) with each other despite the difference in social statuses. Mar 8-25

EXHIBITION
Marvel's AVENGERS S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition is on display at the Science Centre. Pretend you're a recruit at The Avengers headquarters and go on a behind-the-scenes journey into the lives of Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow and Ant-Man. Through Mar 5

FILM
Head over to The Hive for a screening of He Named Me Malala, a film that centers around Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai, who was attacked for speaking out on education for girls in her country. Mar 8

COMEDY
Local comedian and trained actor Sharul Channa is the first Singaporean woman with her own solo, hour-long stand-up show. Laugh your socks off as she traverses controversial topics like race, relationships, politics and more with her style of humor at Pottymouth Mar 8-11

THEATER
Have yourself a little laugh and catch Calendar Girls, a comedic drama based on the script by Tim Firth about a group of women going nude for a calendar as part of a fundraising effort for a local hospital. Mar 8-12

FESTIVAL
Sustainable light installation fest i Light Marina Bay is back to light up the waterfront and our Instagram feeds for the fifth year in a row with massive, dazzling displays by design studios from around the region and the world. And that's not all, the festival is also known for its festival village, market, food options and other fun activities. Mar 9-12

HEALTH
Urban Yogis is at it again with another pop-up yoga session, this time at the MBS Boardwalk. Join in the hour-long Hatha Yoga session and enjoy the backdrop of colors from the sunset amid Singapore's beautiful skyline. Mar 9

FILM
In conjunction with Singapore Design Week, National Design Centre is screening the Singapore premiere of The Art of Recovery, a documentary that follows the remarkable and inspiring post-earthquake events and stories of people in Christchurch, New Zealand, as they embark on a road of recovery. Mar 9

THEATER
Imagine a bunch of women from different walks of life, stuck together when the train comes to an unexpected halt. That's exactly what comedic play M.R.T is all about. Find out what happens through the various stories these women share, subtly unveiling their strengths and weaknesses. Mar 9-11

Friday, Mar 10

CONCERT
The Temper Trap is probably one of Australia’s best indie music exports in recent memory. They’re certainly no strangers to Singapore, having performed here a couple of times since their debut here at the 2011 edition of Laneway. Now they’re back with a third studio album in tow for a headlining show as part of the Southeast Asia leg of their tour. Mar 10

MARKET
Running concurrently with Singapore Design Week, the always-anticipated Boutiques is back, with a big Spring/Summer throwdown. There will be over 150 labels, covering womenswear, menswear, homeware and furniture. And we are told that an impressive 80 percent of them have socially responsible production practices. Mar 10-11

PARTY
The Peranakan Museum is closing off the street for their second annual Armenian Street Party. Expect a celebration of the Peranakan culture, with a program line-up of drama productions, musical performances, dance sequences, literary events, drinks and Peranakan food fare. Mar 10-11

MARKET
Check out over 20 stalls selling jewelry, beauty products, artsy knick-knacks and snacks from local vendors like Emma, Super Pop and ReenTique at Baghdad Street’s Indie Market, organized by Fri-nally Fete Street Art Market and One Kampong Glam. Mar 10-12

FOOD
Goodwood Park Hotel's annual durian festival returns, unfrazzled by the suspension and food poisoning cases last year, with all-time favorites like durian puffs and crepes and and new creations like a designer cakes shaped after the fruit itself. Mar 10-Jul 31
