If you’re still recovering from the party- and booze-fuelled weekend, there's a bunch of low key activities taking place around the city this week, including a permanent showcase at National Museum’s new digital-only gallery, a film and food pairing session and poetry reading events. Then, prepare for the weekend with parties starting from Thursday night.

This fifth edition of the Singapore Biennale, titled “Atlas of Mirrors”, is in its last couple weeks, showcasing 58 pieces and installations from 60 artists (10 of which are Singaporean) and three art collectives. Singaporean filmmaker and Cannes darling Boo Junfeng started out making many short films before eventually producing his very first feature in 2010. Catch the screening of Sandcastle, Boo’s debut feature that explores the issues of the individual and national identity through the eyes of an 18-year-old. Admission is free, and so is the popcorn. THEATER
The award-winning musical Chicago, based on events from the 1920s, has finally hit our shores. Go on a journey with nightclub singer Roxie Hart as she sings her way to become the star she always wanted, meeting characters like double murderess Velma Kelly and charming lawyer Billy Flynn, along the way. PARTY
It's going to be a sick night of trap, hip hop and R&B at Kilo Lounge as Canadian DJ Blaze drops some familiar tunes and mixes it up for a fresh sound. He's played alongside biggies like Flo Rida, Lil Jon and DJ Snake and regularly spins at huge clubs like Pacha Macau and Boujis Hong Kong. Feb 9

Singapore Literature Prize winner Ng Yi-Sheng will be performing works from his spoken word collection, Loud Poems For a Very Obliging Audience, and a couple of other pieces that he felt were "too dangerous to print", at CityLink Mall's Booktique Where Writers Shop. Feb 9

Headquarters continues to be the champion for all things techno as German DJ Discrete Circuit, the head honcho for the AWAY party series in Berlin, takes a break from a quick break from his holiday in Singapore to push a pumping set of house and techno. Feb 9

Local artist Ang Song Nian and photographer Robert Zhao come together to put up two exhibitions at DECK that focus on photography's role to document history; one explores his discomfort during the recurring haze in Singapore while the other showcases Singapore's natural history through his photo collection of the city's natural landscape from the 1900s. CONCERT
One of the greatest American rock bands of all time, Journey, returns to Singapore after four years. Be prepared to be swept away by lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, as he and bandmates Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Steve Smith, and Jonathan Cain, perform crowd favorites like “Faithfully”, “Open Arms” and history’s biggest-selling digital catalog song, “Don’t Stop Believin’”.
