ART
Hang out with some of Singapore’s best photographers at the launch of the +50 books.
 
FESTIVAL  
Voilah! French Festival is back with something for foodies and culture vultures alike. There’s the Voilah! Food Festival (until May 31), Superstars of Ballet (Apr 29-May 1), a collaborative performance of productions like Giselle and Don Quixote and a performance by renowned classical guitarist Thibault Cauvin (May 13).
 
FILM
The Italian Film Festival is taking place across The Projector, the National Museum and various Golden Village cinemas. Highlights include popular Italian titles such as Wondrous Boccaccio, about 10 young men and women who escaped the Black Death in 14th century Florence, and My Mother by Nanni Moretti, about a comedic clash between a filmmaker and her mother. On until Apr 30.

COMEDY
The Singapore Comedy Fringe is back with 10 shows over five nights featuring 25 comedians. On until Apr 30.
 
FOOD
Once Upon a Time in the 70s is a 70s themed night at Tippling Club with a five-course meal paired with cocktails.
 

Wed, Apr 27

PARTY
What better way to get past hump day than to indulge in a few vintage tiki cocktails? The Raffles Bar & Billiard Room is hosting After Work Tikitails featuring concoctions like the Ginger Comb, Zombie Zombie, Kaya Colada and Tiki Niki.
 
LITERARY
Poet and tattoo artist Kosal Khiev features in this edition of SPEAK at Canvas.
 
CONCERT
The first artist to sign with Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records, British singer-songwriter Jamie Lawson will be performing at the University Cultural Centre Theatre. You know him best for the hit single “Wasn’t Expecting That”.
 
THEATER
Another year, another edition of Singapore Repertory Theatre’s beloved Shakespeare in the Park. This time, they’ll be doing Romeo and Juliet. Oh, and it's the last one for the foreseeable future, so don't miss it. On until May 22.

Singapore artist and Olympic sailor Charles Lim Yi Yong and curator Shabbir Hussain Mustafa share their experiences of working on SEA STATE for the Singapore Pavilion at the 2015 Venice Biennale.

This month’s poetry slam at Blu Jaz celebrates “the others” – the voices of minority ethnicities, sexual identities, languages and cultures.

Jonathan Lim’s new show Getai – The Musical is part concert and part high energy theatrical production. Among the guest stars making appearances during the run are Sakura Teng and Zhuang Xue Zhong. On until May 29.

DANCE
Superstars of Ballet brings together 12 principal dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, English National Ballet and American Ballet Theatre of New York (Daniil Simkin among them) for a performance of famed French ballets. On until May 1.
 
FOOD
Curate, Resort World Sentosa’s newest restaurant, features pop-up menus by Michelin-starred chefs from around the world. Its debut showcase features three Michelin-starred chef Massimiliano Alajmo of Italian restaurant La Calandre, who is known for dishes that focus on seasonal ingredients and molecular techniques. On until May 6.
 
FILM
The first edition of A Design Film Festival’s gastronomic offshoot, Food Cine.ma takes place over two weeks, and highlights include the world premiere of Tasteology, about chefs who are advancing taste through science, the Asian premiere of Miso Hungry – comedian Craig Anderson’s healthy eating adventure in Japan, and The Birth of Saké, a documentary that charts the 2,000 years of Japan’s national drink. On until May 14.
 
PARTY
The National Gallery’s first Gallery After Hours is a night of electronic music with Kronenbourg pints and wines going at $10 nett.
