15 things to do, see, eat and drink this weekend in Singapore (May 29-31)
It's a long one, with Caribbean parties, funky art shows and concerts.
Make most of the long weekend by heading to some local gigs, participating in a pub crawl or dancing at an all-out tiki party at Gillman Barracks.
MUSIC
Local five-man band Hanging Up the Moon launch their third studio album, Immaterial, at this concert. The third album is full of lush vocals layered with violins and cellos.
DRINK
It's Friday so it's time for a riverside pub crawl. The Singapore Pub Crawl takes you to four different bars and one club for a night of shots, parties and new friends.
ART
This edition of Art After Dark is held in conjunction with the Singapore Open Media Art Festival and includes media installations, new shows, extended opening hours and performances by Chicks on Speed and DJ group Attagirl.
PARTY
Tapow hosts Caribbean Beats with funky Afro-Caribbean beats by DJ Assin, Caribbean food, pina coladas and rum punches. Another funky party happening the same night is Kilowatt's Tiki Vibes, with music by Kostas and Adonis, craft beers, satay and fried chicken.
CONCERT
Teenage acoustic guitar prodigy Sungha Jung, who's got millions of fans on YouTube, is in town from Korea to play a slew of covers and some of his own original pieces.
FAIR
The Local People take over DECK, an art gallery housed in repurposed shipping containers, in #T8Deck Art Market. Vendors include TwoMen Bagel House, The Lab SG and music by the likes of Jaime Wong and DJ Rockafelr.
EAT
Restaurant Ember teams up with Snorre Seafood for a special Norwegian seafood menu. Chef Sufian and Chef Markus whip up a menu comprising rainbow trout with bacon dashi, Greenland prawns with with eggs and prawn emulsion and 60-hour slow-cooked short rib.
PARTY
This month's edition of Kilo's After Dark party brings DJs Launa Fen, Daryl C and Oliver Osborne who will take turns spinning deep and techno beats.
MUSIC
Barbershop by Timbre curates this acoustic, stripped-down music night, Songwriters Night, featuring Jaime Wong, Theodora, Lew and Rahul Advani on the stage. There's also an open mic session, too.
DANCE
This is your last chance to catch Tchaikovsky's ballet, Swan Lake, performed by the renowned St. Petersburg Ballet troupe.
MARKET
Kranji Countryside Farmers Market is back with more made-in-Singapore produce like veggies, eggs and even frogs, as well as a range of artisanal homemade products including jams and granola. They've also got shuttle buses running between Kranji MRT.

Take it to the rooftops with Anoraak's synth lines and catchy beats. There will be free satay, hot local snacks and sunset cocktails at Loof.
MUSIC
Kyoto-based all-girl alternative rock band tricot stop by for a gig at The Substation. They'll be performing an intense set with songs from their new album AND.
SALES
The Really Really Free Market returns at Macpherson. You can get almost anything for free, including haircuts, vinyls, books and food. Trading skills and items are encouraged.
