Shopping in Singapore has gotten a bit of a shake up lately in Singapore, with some cute new boutiques. There's also a new Peranakan restaurant to check out, as well as tons of live music and dance parties. Here's your week.

It's the start of a new work week. Drown your sorrows in some retail therapy at Vanilla Home’s new boutique in Chinatown which sells homeware products and luxury home decor accessories such as Italian ceramics and German crystal glasses.

Or, head over to Tangs at Tangs Plaza which has just launched a retail pop-up on its fourth floor featuring lifestyle products tailored for men such as statement sports accessories and fancy audio equipment and vinyls by Estelon and The Barbershop Music.

FITNESS

In celebration of International Day of Yoga, Pure Yoga will be hosting an International #YogaRelay across five cities, from Asia to New York. During the Yoga Relay, complimentary sessions of vinyasa, hot hatha, and hatha will be held at Pure Yoga @ Ngee Ann City.

Urban Yogis will also be hosting POP UP YOGA x International Yoga Day, a free sunset yoga and meditation session at Marina Bay Sands' boardwalk.

FOOD

Check out the recently opened Peranakan restaurant at the Claymore Connect mall, The Peranakan, which serves traditional Straits Chinese classics in a space that resembles an old, opulent Baba residence. Take a big crew and order their tok panjang.

Online retailer Gnossem collaborates with BooksActually for the Gnossem: Salon Series featuring local writers Amanda Lee Koe and Kirsten Tan who will speak about writing in Singapore.

THEATER

Singapore International of the Arts (SIFA) kicks off with The O.P.E.N., with highlights like I Know Why the Rebel Sings, a collection by Iranian photojournalist Newsha Tavakolian, a performance by Uyghur singer Perhat Khaliq of Voice of China fame and Club Malam, a nostalgic rave with producers from Singapore, Germany and Indonesia. Through Jul 9.

MUSIC

The Clarke Quay Music Jam Series starts things with Bavarian beerhouse Paulaner’s new five-member band, Ripples, and powerhouse DJ nDA to bring you upbeat renditions of the latest tracks.

Beer Market’s resident band, NationOne, together with DJ Chris C., brings you a rave night with an eclectic mix of covers.

FASHION

Get your tropics vibe on at the Vai Brasil pop-up at Tudor Court featuring resort-themed Brazilian apparel, accessories, handicrafts, and home furnishings by fashion and resort designer brands from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Through Aug 31.

DRINK

For one day only, Hawker Wine Safari returns to Merchants Wine Store for another evening of wine-tasting and local food with winemaker Jason Schwarz (Barossa Valley).

MUSIC

Local and regional music festival Baybeats Festival is happening at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay till Jun 26, with 36 performances by veteran and new artists from Singapore and the region.

PARTY

Party to techno and house beats with a mix of vintage Asian funk at Tiko Tekno II with featured DJs KiDG (Tiko Disko & Poptart) and Sound Forest (Cloud Of Silence Records) at gritty Haji Lane.

EXHIBITION
Immigrant by Ali Esmaeilipour at  Miaja Gallery is a mix-media exhibition comprising visual representations of the sentiment and struggle in balancing roots of belonging. Through July 8.
