There's more to March than just Bruno Mars and John McLaughlin, as hippies head to the Keep on the Grass Festival and Yellow Fang releases a full-length album (with accompanying concert), Pen-Ek talks cinema and The Little Prince is celebrated.

Keep On the Grass (Mar 8-9)

Originally slated as a smaller version of their annual Stone Free festival, Keep On The Grass puts the focus on folk, acoustic and instrumental and experimental artists. Taking to the grassy, open-air stage in Muaklek on Mar 8 will be emerging acts like Alone Tournament and Youth Brush, who will pave the way for the surprising headliners: 80s progressive rocker, DJ and writer Manot Puttan and folk soloist Jetmon Malayotha of Smallroom. One Sunday with Yellow Fang (Mar 9)

Indie fans could hardly picture a better way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon than this beach-themed gig featuring the bodacious trio alongside Gramaphone Children at Flow House. At Flow House. Details TBA.

John McLaughlin & The 4th Dimension Live in Bangkok (Mar 18)

The iconic jazz guitarist and composer holds a guitar clinic on Mar 17 (B1,500, 7pm) before taking to the stage with his band to perform songs like “Mother Tongues,” “The Fine Line” and “The Unknown Dissident.”

Bangkok Jazz Collective  (Mar 29)
A jazz concert held inside a cinema with performances by locally-loved Japanese bossa nova vocalist Lisa Ono, famous trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, Silapathorn award-winning pianist Den Yuprasert, Mellow Motif and Soul After Six.

Social Enterprise Week finds its stride next weekend (Mar 8-9) with two festivals that will delight bookworms and organic minds. The Green Shop Festival will teach you how to cook sunchoke, make natural soaps and brew mint tea at organic shops around town, while the Book for Change Festival sees four independent bookstores hold talks on writing that critiques Thai literature and society.

In Ter's View: A Documentary Theatre (from Mar 20)

New Theatre Society stages a play narrating the life and work experience of 15 Thai theater actresses, including Farida Jiraphan, Vidura Amaranand, Dujdao Vadhanapakorn Boonyai and Janya Thanaswangkul, presenting six actresses and one guest actor per round. Cinema Diverse: Director's Choice (Mar 22)

The screening and talk returns for the third time and sees Pen-ek Ratanaruang (Paradoxocracy and Last Life in the Universe) select Sri Lankan film  Between Two World (2009) toto be screened and discussed along with the film's director Vimukthi Jayasundara, at BACC.

Discovering The Little Prince (Mar 6)

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Little Prince, Olivier d’Agay, great-nephew of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, gives a talk on the life and works of the pilot-author. Conference in French. The photo exhibition Saint-Exupéry, His Little Prince and French Wings, held in tribute to the pilot author, starts on the same day.

West or East Exhibition

Art aficionados have a touch choice to make: Phra Kanong or Charoen Krung. Opening on the same day (Mar 7) is new gallery GOJA’s second group exhibition Paintbox Vol.2, with the launch party featuring live painting and music by Dust La Rock, while a puzzling experience awaits at Speedy Grandma, where Scot Cotterell presents his experimental sound and visual work as part of Everything All At Once (And Then Some).

Bruno Mars The Moonshine Jungle Tour 2014 (Mar 20)

American mega-popster Bruno Mars, fresh from his memorable half time Super Bowl performance, makes his Bangkok debut  as part of his Moonshine Jungle Tour. You can expect the Hawaiian to be belting out all his global hits like "Grenade," "Just the Way You Are" and "The Lazy Song"  as well as material from his second studio album the 2012 release Unorthodox Jukebox.
