11 things to do, eat and see this weekend in Singapore (Jun 5-7)
Rooftop parties, indie music and concerts in the park: all happening this weekend in Singapore.
It seems like this weekend is full of parties, whether you like to rave at a club, attend a sundown rooftop gig or want some open air fun. But that's not all, here's how you should spend this weekend in Singapore.
PARTY
One of the hottest DJ acts of the moment, The Chainsmokers, make their Singapore debut in Zouk where they'll be playing infectious dance-pop anthems like "#SELFIE".
SPORTS
The SEA Games start today with over 30 sports and 400 events happening around Singapore. Catch Asian sports like sepak takraw and wushu. There are also free events, like dragon boat races, to attend around Bedok Reservoir next week.
FILM
SCUM Cinema brings a Japanese "pinky horror" flick, Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41. The story revolves around a pretty female prisoner and her sadistic warden.
PARTY
Kilo Lounge continues their party series, We Love Soko, with DJs Ming Sg, Benny Campbell and Alex Helme on the decks.
PARTY
It's been six years since Nosaj Thing took the DJ scene by storm and this time, they'll be playing more of their funky swing sounds at Kyo.
CONCERT
As the first indie triple bill hosted by local record label, House of Riot, the lineup includes soulful crooner Charlie Lim, edgy singer-songwriter Inch Chua and veteran indie rock band The Great Spy Experiment.
OPERA
This year's Opera in the Park is themed "Opera in movies and film". The orchestra will play scores from films like Superman Returns and Life is Beautiful, as well as Tom & Jerry cartoons.
MUSIC
It's a night full of local musicians at ConTribute: Radiohead. There's a lineup of 11 musicians, including Jonathan Meur, Thaves and Rachel & Arif.
OUTING
Sign up for an island-wide escape room game. Escape from the Conspiracy gets you to solve obstacles and puzzles throughout the city with the aim to stop a conspiracy group from paralyzing Singapore's economy.
DRINK
Your last chance to get specially-created Negronis during Negroni Week. There are seven bars that are stirring up different creations where proceeds will go to charity.
PARTY
Cool (slightly pretentious) folk hangout, Potato Head Folk hosts rooftop shindig Singapura Dub Club. Cojie will be spinning reggae, dancehall and a little bit of rock. He'll be taking turns with DJ Reiki, Rumshot and Ryan Pittam.
