Bored of those luxurious malls in town? OK, it's hot, but you can avoid the sun and the pricey brands by heading to this selection of after-dark bazaars.

Siam Gypsy Night Market

Here’s the latest weekend attraction for boho and antique lovers. With a similar raw vibe to the old Suan Rod Fai Market, this market at JJ Green amasses vendors who sell all sorts of goods from handmade accessories and peculiar decorations to rare and cheap items such as spare parts for classic cars and motorcycles like Volkswagen and Vespa. Sometimes there are gigs to jazz up the night, too.

JJ Green, Kamphaeng Phet 3 Rd., (near Children Museum), 083-074-2100. Open Fri-Sun 5pm-12am. http://jjgreen.com

Rod Fai Market

It's taken a while to finally win us over after pulling up sticks at Kamphangphet MRT and moving to Srinakarin Road, behind Seacon Square, but we think the much-loved market is somewhere approaching former glories. On top of all the secondhand and cool bric a brac, there's also a bigger focus on food now. Things are a bit more orderly than at the previous space; still, you'll find vendors peddling all sorts of vintage wares, from clothes to records, handmade accessories to antiques, as well as spare parts of classic cars and even secondhand Vespas from Europe.

Srinakarin Soi 51, behind Seacon Square, 081-827-5885. Open Fri-Sun 5pm-12am. www.facebook.com/taradrodfi

TGIF Market

A-square is the place to be this weekend as it kicks off this flea market aimed squarely at "urbanistas." The first holding of the market takes place this Apr 25-27, and it's fair to say things will be a bit less grungy than at the other two markets listed here. Instead, you can expect to find a fashionable playground of more than 150 popular online stores, such as Le Qua, Vanilla Headquarter, Simple Seize, Vitithipa, Haus of Jewelry, Pisella, Plew and so on. As an extra special treat, on Sunday, the super-popular food truck Daniel Thaiger will serve up their limited edition Vivin Van Thaiger Burger (foie gras burger) made with natural whole duck foie gras terrine from Vivin, strawberry balsamic jam by Roast and brioche bun from Conkey's

A-Square,  Sukhumvit 26 Rd. (Soi Aree). Opposite Big C. April 25-27, 2014. 4pm-10pm.  087-988-8217. www.facebook.com/TGIFmarket
