The Bukit Timah Nature Reserve just reopened with fancy new hiking trails
Amateur trekkers, have no fear.
If you're too sad to go back to Coney Island after the death of the lonesome Brahmin cow, you have a new-old option. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve just reopened after a whopping $14 million restoration and revamp, and is now open to hikers and non-hikers alike every day of the week, according to a story by the Straits Times.
The nature reserved closed for renovations two years ago after a quadrupling in visitorship since the 1990s severely eroded the pathways and natura habitats. The breather is said to have allowed the area's flora and fauna to recover. Replanting of saplings aside, the reserve's hiking paths have now been fitted with non-slippery gravel, steep slopes have support railings, swampy areas now have raised boardwalks, among other improvements.
The 163-hectare nature reserve, on Singapore's highest hill, is open daily from 7am-7pm.
