It’s no secret White Claw is out there. It dropped into Bangkok in November, carried by a few supermarkets and select nightlife venues. Now, it’ll be in your local 7-Elevens.
Starting Thursday, Feb 6, White Claw will be found in 4,200 7-Eleven locations. The “Zima of Gen-Z” will be found in lime and raspberry at your local 7-Eleven, but can also be found in mango at select venues.
Since its launch in Thailand in late November, Bangkok has been quick to jump on the White Claw train. Apt 101 ran a White Claw party in December, and over the weekend BAD Award-winning dive bar Fatty’s Bar and Diner had a “Claws Out” party.
White Claw became a bit of a cultural phenomenon in the West, spawning celebrity endorsements and, of course, memes—baptism by White Claw, White Claw tattoos, and a lot of content celebrating (and
bemoaning) its frat boy reputation.
The brand had a bit of a change in its customer base in its short life since 2016—first marketed as a low calorie beer alternative, then a rebirth as an all-around party drink.
Currently found in supermarkets like Villa, Tops, and Gourmet, the brand has had a limited release in venues around town. Currently, you can find it in around 15 nightlife spots around the city, including Black Cabin, Seen Space, Blacklyte Rover, Sway, and Tony’s Pizza.
The drinks in Thailand 7-Elevens will be available for B49, and a peach flavor is expected to be launched in March.
