Back in 2015 we were told La Fete was changing from a month-long festival to a yearly schedule of art events, but now the Alliance Francaise of Bangkok has announced a very La Fete-like packed schedule of shows, concerts and cultural activities set to run through mid-July. Here’s a closer look at what’s coming up in the next few weeks. 

ART: Painting Exposition One Stop 

May 23-Jun 11, Alliance Francaise Gallery
French artist Gilles Rieu presents a collection of paintings created on rolls of 10-meter long paper incorporating images and languages inspired from his travels around the world.

DANCE: Escape, Compagnie Deuxieme Vague 

May 25, Alliance Francaise’s Auditorium
French choreographer Nathanael Marie leads a multicultural company of six dancers in a performance bridging Thai and Swiss cultures.

MUSIC: Concert Ensemble Multilaterale 

May 27, Chulalongkorn University Music Hall 
The ensemble, in collaboration with Indonesia’s Insitut Francais and Bangkok’s Silpakorn University, performs live alongside a week of masterclasses and workshop sessions.
 

DANCE: Compagnie Swaggers, In the Middle

Jun 2, Alliance Francaise’s Auditorial
Hip-hop dancer and choreographer Marion Motin brings her dance company to the stage along with singers Stromae and Christine & The Queens.

THEATER: Compagnie Non Nova, l’Apres-midi d’un Foehn et Vortex

Jun 7-10, Sodsai Pantoomkomol Center for Dramatic Arts, Chualongkorn University 
Phia Menard performs a piece combining theater and circus styles.
