You might even win yourself a free holiday

You've probably seen the cutting-edge features of the upcoming new Terminal 4, which got a nod from PM Lee (#OxleyRoad affairs aside) last week. But next month, you can drop by to see and experience it for yourself before it opens later this year.

The best part about it is that you'll get to explore the terminal on your own, with the help of a specially created T4 Open House app (there's no indication on the site on where to download it, though they might probably tell you on the day itself). But you'll first have to register for a weekday slot for the 90-minute tour, which will take place from Aug 7-20, between 9am-6pm (we did a quick check and found that tickets for the weekends, National Day, and the day after, are already fully taken up).

On the selected day of your arrival, there'll be a complimentary shuttle bus service from the T3 Coach Stand to bring you over to T4, if you're not planning on driving or cabbing in. Here, you’ll receive a Boarding Pass, which entitles you to try out the self-luggage tagging and the supposedly much faster Automated Immigration gates with facial recognition technology, as well as purchase products at the integrated duty-free shopping zone (just make sure you pre-order them at least 18 hours beforehand).

You’ll also get to see the new sculptures, kinetic art displays, interactive displays, check out other zones in the terminal, among other things. While you’re walking about the various zones, try out the location-based games on the app to try your luck at snagging yourself some shopping and dining e-vouchers to use the next time you go to the airport. You might also stand a chance to win a free trip to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai and other countries in the region if you take part in the lucky draw (winners will be announced at the end of each day).

Just note that there won't be any grub or drinks during the entirety of Open House, unless you're good with water from the coolers at the terminal. Registration and more info here.
