Noise Market II (May 10-11)

The first hosting of this flea marketcum-music festival on the lawn of the Museum of Siam was a real success, despite the thundery downpours. The Noise Market returns this weekend, come rain or shine. Expect over 30 indie acts including the likes of Natee Sridokmai and Lek Proud, a talk from director Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit, as well as the chance to shop for handicrafts, vinyl and music-related merchandise. It’s also a great excuse to check out the excellent museum.

The Swedish dream pop trio gained quite a lot of cachet among indie heads last year thanks to wistful tracks like “Atlantis” “Supreme” and “All That We Had Is Lost.” Their ethereal electro-tinged sound has drawn comparison with shoegazers such as M83 and Sigur Ros. You can now make your own mind up as they play Cosmic Café, courtesy of Popscene. Making things even more exciting, they'll be supported by three of Bangkok's brightest new bands: Cut the Crab, Deconnextor and Cloud Behind.

Bangkok Farmers’ Market at The Vue (May 10-11)

The much-loved market brings the usual quality local produce to a new location right by the Chao Phraya River.

The Big Trees Project and Bang Kachao residents have arranged a bike trip and discussion to express their concern and raise awareness of the potential harm to the capital's scarce green space.
