Friday 13th Keep Calm & Go to Cosmic
Bringing back the heydays of Bangkok's indie music scene, the intimate gig lines up four top local acts: Yellow Fang, Basement Tape, Lucy Suicide (current Knock the Knock) and the much-underrated rockers Samurai Loud, known for their bizzare stage antics, who return after long absence, plus music by DJ Tat Bunnag.

This week could be your last chance to catch this visually astonishing pictures in By The River in Bangkok cinemas. Set amid the tranquil deep woods in Kanchanaburi, the latest feature documentary by Nontawat Numbenchapol observes the simple life of the Karen in Klity village, where residents rely on fishing in the river contaminated by a mineral processing factory, through a young man who catches fish for his lover. With English subtitles (plus you also get a pretty cool free poster).

Thai Aurora at The Horizon
OK, no more three-finger salutes. But that shouldn’t stop you heading along to TK Park this Saturday for the Thai Aurora at The Horizon movie program. The future of our country will be the timely topic tackled in 14 political short films by 15 directors, including Chulayarnnon Siriphol’s Here Comes the Democrat Party and Natpakhan Khemkhao’s film about a colorful taxi argument, The Taxi Meter. The directors will also discuss their work afterwards. The program will hop over to The Reading Room next week (Jun 22).
