La Tavola

Renaissance Hotel’s signature Italian restaurant serves up refined, twist-free classics in an equally sophisticated dining room featuring large windows, blond wood decor and crisp white tablecloths. Wood-fired pizzas vie for attention with their 11 varieties of homemade pasta and an alluring antipasti table. Be sure to leave room for dessert, be it red berry panna cotta or creamy tiramisu.

Tapas by Nan Charcoal Grill

Northern Spain's Basque cuisine of coal-grilled meats takes the center stage at Tapas by Nan Charcoal Grill. In the casual, soft-industrial space. Owner-chef Vimvadee Piyavanich and her team cook up imported meat and local seafood on a charcoal-fired Josper grill. The results give a beautiful smoky, char-grilled aroma to dishes like the Galician-style octopus served with confit potato and the Iberico pork presa.

The Brasserie

Sitting on the upper lobby of the palatial Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, The Brasserie serves up sharing dishes of beef Bourguignon and other simple French staples to go with craft beer and cider on normal days—if you didn't know, "brasserie" is French for brewery, but often describes venues with a large selection of drinks in general.

Bangkok Trading Post

With its soaring glass walls, cool marble tables and herringbone floors, this luxurious but hip all-day-bistro has become the neighborhood's go-to for brunch. Drop by for an East-meets-West array of pizzas, fluffy quinoa pancakes, shakshuka and beef rendang as you unwind with a cold-pressed juice among Phrom Phong's beau monde.

Luka Moto

This handsome cafe, the follow up to a Sathorn favorite, will have you eating your breakfast burrito while lusting over retro-style big bikes thanks to a partnership with BMW. Feast on carb-heavy creations like “Gangnam style” crunchy chicken thigh on a kimchi waffle with poached egg and gojuchang ketchup or the perfectly sweet and savory French toast with bacon, grilled banana and syrup. And if you want to skip on the coffee, they’ll even pour you punchy bloody Mary.

Cocotte

Sukhumvit's rusticated steak and rotisserie meats specialist pairs cosmopolitan lounge bar vibes with the comfort of big portion sharing plates and hearty flavors. Tomahawk steak, burgers, Barbary duck and crispy pig are the orders of the day, as are the cold cuts and cheeses from the restaurant's deli.

Pesca Mar & Terra Bistro

Cocotte's sister restaurant, Pesca Mar & Terra Bistro, ditches the farmhouse for the Mediterranean seaside and serves up imported seafood alongside hefty slabs of meat within a sprawling blue and white house. Inside, the open kitchen bustles with all the action of a fresh seafood market. A few steps away you'll find a market-esque deli counter and a small wine room.

Blue Parrot

The backyard at Revolucion Cocktail and Clandestino Cantina has become Sathorn's newest tropical escape. Blue Parrot takes a more family-oriented route, opening from 11:30am six days a week to offer a brunch-y vibe amid trees and faux grass. On top of a bottle-shaped swimming pool and petanque strip, there's a dedicated play area to keep the little ones occupied.

80/20

2019 saw Charoenkrung’s hipster hangout go upscale: kitchen bar seats, tasting menu, wine pairing and craft cocktails. Fermentation remains at the heart of chef Napol Jantraget’s nine-course menu, whether it’s a sinfully crisp slice of pork belly topped with infused mushroom and served with a fermented chili sauce or a tangy coconut cream with smoked goby fish. Desserts by Japanese pastry chef Saki Hoshino forgo sweetness in favor of sublimely challenging new flavors.

Jua

Nestled deep down a residential Charoenkrung soi, far removed from the Japanese hotbed that is Sukhumvit, this sleek modern izakaya is providing the fuel for many a big night out. To go with the artisanal sake, natural wines and cocktails, chef Chet Atkins applies expert preparation and excellent produce to yakitori and kushiyaki (Japanese-style grilled skewers), as well as stylish interpretations of Japanese and Korean comfort food.
