About: Taan runs with Bangkok’s pack of locally focused, innovative-yet-devoutly-Thai restaurants usually found in Charoenkrung back alleys or converted warehouses. There’s only one catch: this one sits inside a perfectly air-conditioned glass box 25 floors above Bangkok in the Siam@Siam hotel. The food is uncompromising, inventive, soulful and balanced.

Embassy Room

About: This sleek, French-inspired brasserie boasts a rotating selection of modern European dishes by the hand of Executive Chef Franck Detrait and Chef de Cuisine Pierre Tavernier. Like most of the high-end hotel offerings in town, Embassy Room sources its ingredients seasonally, using a combination of local and imported ingredients. It’s BKRW menu is a curated list of some of its finest a la carte offerings, like the succulent honey-glazed pork tenderloin and zucchini cannelloni.
 

3SAN

About: Tucked at the end of Sukhumvit 51, 3San prides itself on a unique combination of Thai, Chinese and American cuisine — designed by in-house chefs from all three countries. Dinner favorites include twisted noodles with uni cream and river prawns, mellow poached scallops in coconut broth, and foie gras wontons with shimeji mushrooms in duck broth. Head there around lunch to try special dishes like the San fried pork over rice.

 

Penthouse Bar + Grill

About: The multi-story showpiece steakhouse atop the Park Hyatt goes all out. The interior of walnut woods and marble is stunning. The menu of red meat and seafood jumps straight to the premium stuff. The cocktails hit the price-to-quality sweet spot. This is prime date-night material.

Karmakamet Diner

About: Local aromatherapy brand Karmakamet is now as well known for its cute coffee shops as its home fragrances. This full-scale restaurant is the most ambitious of the lot, featuring on-trend decor filled with old-school medicine cupboards, packing crates and house plants.

Brasserie 9

About: Traditional French cuisine comes with a few contemporary twists at this welcoming bistro complete with timber beams, hanging lamps and old-fashioned world map. Classic appetizers like foie gras terrine and sit alongside mains like pan-fried frog legs in garlic butter, salmon and Charolais entrecote with vegetables.
