Sensi

About: This welcoming Sathorn back-street institution makes the most of its incredible produce. Aside from a la carte, chef Stefano Merlo’s tasting menus offer a fun, interactive version of Italian fine dining, pairing dainty creations like a burratta-stuffed tomato caprese salad with heftier meat and pasta plates, including darn-near the best lasagna you’re likely to find. One of the first venues to sell out all seats in 2018 - early bookings are a must!

The Brasserie

About: Sitting on the upper lobby of the palatial Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, The Brasserie serves up sharing dishes of beef Bourguignon and other simple French staples to go with craft beer and cider on normal days—if you didn't know, "brasserie" is French for brewery, but often describes venues with a large selection of drinks in general.

Accolades: 4 Stars (Tripadvisor, Opentable)

Venue says: “French-inspired cuisine using locally sourced ingredients, prepared using classic techniques.“

Medici

About: From a dining room that looks like an Italian wine cellar tucked into the rusting rafters of an Art Deco skyscraper, Medici fuses the cuisines of Italy's Mediterranean coastline with influences from its neighboring countries. Here they have also combined dinner with theater, from rich operatic performances, to live contemporary jazz, to special event entertainment. The selection of wines, cocktails and spirits remains as extensive as always.

Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant

About: Perched 37 floors above Silom, with river views to boot, this wine bistro combines well-executed French comfort food, chargrilled Aussie steaks and a long, long wine list into one sleek yet affordable package. The charcuterie and cheese platters also come highly recommended—just be sure to book well ahead for a spot on the terrace. Diners had nothing but praise for Scarlett during BKRW 2018 - 100% positive reviews.

Kisso

About: This is more than your typical Japanese-restaurant minimalism. Here the dominant color is weathered copper and leather, while the dimly-lit dining room has a bit of a retro feel courtesy of cherry blossom patterns, rows of sake barrels and Japanese partition screens. On top of his regular fish deliveries from Japan's Tsukiji Market, Japanese Chef Shinsuke Yonekawa personally sources locally-grown Japanese rice.

Accolades 4.5 Stars (Tripadvisor)

Aesop's

About: This next-gen rebirth of a family-run Greek restaurant from Sydney conjures an ouzo-fueled party atmosphere, serving sharing feasts of vibrant classics like eight-hour lamb shoulder, chicken souvlaki and char-grilled Mediterranean octopus. In a hall made for big, boisterous gatherings, guests are encouraged to hurl crockery, as is Greek tradition, to a soundtrack of “Zorba’s Dance.”

Accolades: Top Tables Best New Restaurants List (2019), BKRW Diners’ Choice Award (Best Atmosphere), BK Magazine: 4 Stars

Olta

Olta shoots for the sweet spot between casual afterwork meetups and special-occasion dining through teal banquettes, moody down-lighting, walls popping with black-and-white contemporary art and a soundtrack flipping between mid-tempo hip-hop and singalong indie. Bar snacks like the Scotch egg and Thai wagyu tartare sandwich hint at humble origins, but regular, run-of-the-mill pub grub this ain’t. The cocktail list is short, but no after-thought, also reveling in fresh ingredients and refreshed recipes.
