Also participating is AES+F, the four-piece collective from Russia known for their visual art examining contemporary norms and values. Other names confirmed include Japanese illustrator Yoshidomo Nara, the China-born/France-based activist artist Huang Yong Ping and artist duo Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset from Denmark and Norway.

The Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) will take place between Nov 2018-Feb 2019, alongside the similarly named but unrelated Bangkok Biennial (Jul 7-Sep 3, 2018) and Thailand Biennale in Krabi (Nov 2, 2018-Feb 28, 2019). For the low-down on all three major art events, see our recent story

BAB aims to highlight Bangkok as a “Venice of the East” (emulating Venice's reputation as a city of art) by installing works by some 70 contemporary artists at locations around the city, including along the Chao Phraya River and in the Bangkok Art and Culture Center.
