Your health is at the heart of Chiang Mai's vegetarian, alcohol-free resort
Get well now.
Overview: Your health is at the heart of this vegetarian, alcohol-free resort, where organic eating and a relaxing atmosphere combine to deliver on the resort’s promise of cleansing soul and stomach.
Rave: The decor is stunning. White walls and blond wood furniture meet Lanna style and colonial architecture for a look of classic elegance. The rooms themselves take on a contrasting note of dark wood and ocean-blue walls, while the bathrooms play it classy with blue Portuguese ceramic tiles and brass fixtures.
Rant: With just 39 rooms and a relatively limited common space, staying here can be a bit of a squeeze.
Neighborhood: Tucked inside the walled old city, the resort is just a few minutes walk from the buzzing main street and the Chiang Mai canal. Does that make it noisy? Not at all. The courtyard design ensures that you won’t hear anything but the soothing splashing of the fountain.
Food and drink: The hotel has a healthy, Buddhist vibe, which means no alcohol and only to "body-cleansing" food. At Moreganic, the hotel restaurant, vegetarian Western and Thai dishes are accompanied by herbal drinks. And if you’re worrying about wasting away between meals, the minibar is packed with goodies from Doi Tung (the Princess Mother’s development project) like dried fruit, juice and chocolate.
Price: Currently, B2,436 for a deluxe, B3,625 for the suite and B4,893 for a family room.
