This upcountry festival is all about beer and cool breezes
What better way to escape Bangkok’s winter haze?
Khao Kho, one of our favorite upcountry escapes, plays host to a brand-new craft beer festival this January.
The aptly named Khao Kho Craft Festival takes place on Jan 18 from 2pm-late and brings together a who’s-who of Thai craft brewers. Chit Beer, Jo Beer, Outlaw and Triple Pearl are some of the 10 craft brewers who will be serving up their goods at al fresco, back-to-nature Khao Khai Cafe & Cabin (fb.com/khaokhaikhaokho). Expect their best-known brews plus some special recipes made just for the festival. You can keep your drinking in check with BBQ and unlimited snacks, while live bands provide the entertainment.
There’s no drink limit (pace yourselves), but you have to act fast: only 200 tickets are available (B1,299/person). Go here for more information and to purchase tickets.
