There's a massive Doraemon exhibition happening in Tokyo right now
Celebrating a century (ish) to the cat-robot's birth date.
Remember waking up at daybreak to catch the latest antics of every child’s favorite cat-robot, Doraemon? Well, our hero is back, or should we say, coming soon.
It’s a century (ish) to Sep 3, 2112, Doraemon’s birth date, and to celebrate Fujiko Fujio (the cartoon’s creator) has invited 28 artists to collaborate in a Doraemon-inspired exhibition at the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo.
Brace yourselves: some of the interpretations, like the sexualized version of the little girl Shizuka, have outgrown the family-friendly filter of your childhood.
The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 8pm (5pm on Tuesdays) and runs until Jan 8, 2018. Tickets are B525/person at thedoraemontentokyo2017.jp or at the museum itself.
Fly with NokScoot for around B16,734 per round-trip.
