Hua Hin’s latest restaurant taps into the resort town’s aviation heritage (it was the first place in Thailand to train commercial pilots, don’t you know?). Air Space (063-916-0999, www.fb.com/airspacehuahin) in the Khao Takiab area features a stunning interior dominated by a full-scale model of the world’s first ever aircraft, the 1903 Wright Flyer, which hangs from the ceiling of the PIA-designed barn-like space.

Open on Aug 11, the restaurant's menu is an all-Thai affair courtesy of one of our favorite chefs, Bangkok Bold’s Supanut “Ann” Kanarak (previously head of Four Season's Spice Market). Her signature treats include miang som o (pomelo salad on fried wild betel leaves, B250) along with seven aviation-themed cocktails like the Concorde, Captain, Black Box and 1903 Wright Flyer Gold Age. The coffee bar serves beans from Doi Chang, South Africa and South America. Try their Champagne-glass-coffee Deconstruct Latte (B150) served with a freshly baked cookie.

The restaurant was recently shortlisted for the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors 2016 alongside two other Thai projects.
