This hotel in Sa Kaeo Province in the easternmost part of Thailand has got to be the country’s coolest bike-themed lodgings.

 

The Velo’s Hotel & BMX Pump Track (037-231-458, www.fb.com/velohotel) actually features a BMX circuit on the grounds of the hotel. Its owner, Anurak Tianthong, is chairman of the Sa Kaeo Provincial Federation of Thai Industries, and he brought on board world mountain bike champion Claudio Caluori to help design the track, which features a series of smooth asphalt bumps to simulate riding downhill.

 

It’s not just reserved for bike riders, either: practitioners of other extreme sports like skateboarding and rollerblading are welcome to come and have a go, too. The hotel has 90 rooms, 20 of which are dedicated to cyclists under the name Bike Type.

 

Riders can leave their beloved wheels in the well-designed bike parking section, situated right next to the track. Other room types are Deluxe Pool Access, Deluxe Pool View and Superior. Room rates range from B1,500-B3,000.
