The new travel app Tripper is now available on iOS and Android devices for worldwide multilingual help.
Have you ever felt lost in a foreign land, not understanding the language, what to order on a menu or which bus to take? Well, new travel app Tripper aims to banish those woes with the help of multilingual assistants at your fingertips.
Call from anywhere in the world, 24/7, to connect to real people who can interpret for you, with access to databases of local information from restaurants to transport options. Tripper incorporates a camera, in case you need to translate a menu or identify a foreign object, and makes use of GPS mapping. A VPN (virtual private network) is also available, for an additional cost, for travelers in China to access blocked websites.
You can download the app and set up an account for free, but you do need to pay to use the service. Either go for the pay-as-you-go option, for those occasional sticky situations, at US$2.99 ($3.79) for five minutes, or sign up for the daily package at US$9.99 ($12.66) or monthly package at US$29.99 ($38).
The app is available on iOS and Android. Go to the Tripper website for more info.
