Where Scandinavian chic decor meets super-local dishes.

If you’re going to Ayutthaya, then don’t miss the new cafe from jewelry designer Chutima Ananraya.

She has transformed her family vacation home right on the bank of the Chao Phraya River into The Summer House (086-621-7695, open daily 9:30am-9:30pm, www.fb.com/thesummerhouse.ayutthaya), where Scandinavian chic decor meets with super-local dishes like mackerel paste (B140) and Summer Rolls (B130) made with Ayutthaya’s famous king prawns.

Desserts like the Three Blondies (B75) also play with the province’s famous roti saimai (cotton candy), serving it in a mille-feuille style with Thai tea cream.

They also plan to open up the space for more weekend activities such as riverside picnics and barbecues soon.
