If Phu Quoc's too crowded nowadays (read our story on why you should still visit), fear not as the southern coastal city of Quy Nhon is looming as Vietnam's most peaceful beach escape. That's also where Anantara will open its latest all-villa resort in mid-November.

Anantara Quy Nhon Villas sits between some 72,000 sq meters of jungle and what feels like a secluded beachfront. Each of the 26 one- and two-bedroom villas faces the sea, showing off a contemporary design of timber, granite and marble that gives plenty of nods to nature and local craftsmanship. Rates start at B16,248 a night, inclusive of a private butler service; while the exclusive beachfront pool villa comes in at about B35,944 a night.

On-site restaurant Sea Fire Salt specializes in all things seafood, while a swim-up bar offers Vietnamese craft beers, cocktails and Cuban cigars to the pool-inclined. Other facilities include a spa perched high on the hillside and a gym.

The resort is only a 20-minute drive from Quy Nhon city center and about 50 minutes from Quy Nhon Airport. Nearby attractions include centuries-old Buddhist pagodas and Champa civilization relics dating back as far as the 11th century.
