Hong Kong Arts Festival, Feb 27-Mar 29

One of the country's leading international arts festival will see over 137 performances take place between February and March this year. Expect performances across opera, music, theater and dance from big name international artists like 10-time Grammy Award winner Bobby McFerrin, flamenco troupe Gala Flamenca and the Bolshoi Russian ballet company.

Asia Contemporary Art Show, Mar 12-15

This four-day event brings together over 100 exhibitiors from 19 countries and will be showcasing some 3,000 artworks. 60 of the exhibiting artists will also be at the show to talk about their work and the inspiration behind it. Expect to meet both established artists like Julia Carter who hails from Australia and is known for her vibrant paintings and emerging artists like 18-year-old Hong Konger Rainbow Tse who specializes in watercolor paintings of cityscapes and landscapes. 
 
Set to take place at Conrad Hong Kong, there'll be a special VIP preview on Mar 12 before the show opens to the public on Mar 13. Tickets start from HK$180 for two (if you buy it online) and can go up to HK$260 for a VIP ticket. Head here to get your tickets.

Art Basel, Mar 15-17

This is one of the world's leading get togethers for contemporary art, with 231 galleries from 37 countries with more than half of the galleries with exhibition spaces in Asia. The show is split into six sections and will see some of the world's top galleries displaying artworks like sculptures and paintings to installations and photographs by both emerging and established artists. On the roster are Pearl Lam Galleries and Arndt, both of which have exhibition spaces in Singapore. There will also be talks and panel discussions. 
 
It will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. A weekday ticket starts at HK$150 (early bird price valid until Mar 1) and goes up to HK$850 for a preview ticket. Get your tickets here
