Prepare for some serious home horticulture envy

We aren’t called the Garden City for nothing. Singapore’s obsession with manicured shrubs and tree-lined avenues is only the beginning when it comes to displaying our penchant for well-designed flora. If you fancy yourself a fan of horticulture, head to Gardens by the Bay this July for the return of the Singapore Garden Festival (SGF)—the premiere garden show showcasing creations from the world’s top garden and floral designers under one roof.

Returning in its seventh edition, the biennial event will take place from Jul 21-Aug 3 at Gardens by the Bay, bringing a visual spectacle of exquisite garden exhibits. On show are works from close to 30 internationally acclaimed garden and floral designers, including Singapore’s own Andy Eng, who won Best of Show at SGF 2016, and Chang Huai-yan and Ng Sze Oun—co-founders of landscape design studio Salad Dressing which won the President’s Design Award in 2016.

The 14-day festival takes place at The Meadow and Supertree Grove, where you can also check out inspired entries for this year’s Landscape and Fantasy Show Gardens and Floral Windows to the World competitions (and pick up tips on how to add some greenery to your own home). The beautiful botany continues with the all-new Orchid Extravaganza floral display over at the Flower Dome (conceptualized by Singaporean filmmaker Royston Tan), along with exhibits like the Secret Garden of Edibles, where you can personally explore the fruits and veggies from temperate climates. All that, and there’s also a marketplace with over 100 booths selling food and drink, plants, gardening and landscape goods, and arts and crafts.

Tickets start from $12 and are available here.
