La Casa Nostra

What: Sathorn’s Italian restaurant in a hidden old villa lets you top up your Sunday Italian feast with either free-flow Peroni or Aperol Spritz (B690 each)—you have to pick one.
Why: Chef Nino Scognamillo’s Sicilian-leaning dishes like tortiglioni alla norma (pasta with tomato sauce, eggplant and ricotta cheese, B650/serves four) and fritto misto (deep-fried prawn, calamari and white sand fish served with lime and chili mayo, B850/serves four) are no joke. You can also go there for brunch and stay for dinner when there’s a different menu and the vibe shifts from live coo-ey acoustic band to house music DJ.
When: Every second Sunday of the month, 12:30-7:30pm. The next one is May 13.
Who you’ll meet: It’s a very familial scene, with small children scampering about the outdoor terrace and couples introducing their partner to their parents.
Highlight: Chef Nino’s pasta will make those who don’t like pasta love pasta.
22 Sathorn Soi 1 Yaek 2 (Goethe), 02-287-2402. Open daily 11:30am-midnight

French St.

What: After 60 years dominating Bangkok’s suki scene, chain restaurant Coca goes French with this Charoenkrung restaurant complete with an open-air terrace. Come Saturday, your B600 gets you a main (think salmon eggs Benedict; quiche; or truffle croquette) and one-hour free-flow of the cocktail of the month (Bloody Mary and the likes).
Why: You’re sick of hanging out with the boisterous Thonglor crowd so have decided to head towards the river and Charoenkrung’s peaceful backstreets.
When: Every Saturday 11am-4pm.
Who you’ll meet: Groups of friends playing board games or couples catching a late breakfast.
Highlight: The cute set-up in the courtyard with board games around for you to lounge and chill.
O.P. Garden, Charoenkrung Soi 36, 02-238-6400. Open daily 4:30-11pm

Freebird

What: Top Russell’s Aussie-leaning comfort food in unlimited servings and free-flow booze in a lovely green backyard for B2,500.
Why: As amazing as chef Top’s poached salmon with soy glaze, smoked wings and barbecue ribs are, everyone goes here for the booze: wine, cocktails, craft beer. In fact, we don’t know anyone who’s ever left this garden party sober (or not throwing up in a garbage bag).
When: Every first Sunday of the month, midday-7pm. Next one is May 6.
Who you’ll meet: Big groups of young professionals getting drunk and befriending other big groups of young professionals.
Highlight: The seven hours of unlimited booze (drink responsibly, people), but the food’s great too.
28 Sukhumvit Soi 47, 02-662-4936. Open daily 5:30-11pm; Sat-Sun 11am-3pm

Pesca (Coming Soon)

What: This Mediterranean food specialist from the team behind smash-hit bistro Cocotte offers up seven hours of buffet gorging and free-flow wine and sparkling for B2,780.
Why: This deal is just as enticing as Freebird’s monthly garden party, but is slated for every weekend (hurray!).
When: Every Sunday from 11am-6pm. Launching May 6.
Who you’ll meet: Ekkamai/Thonglor’s party set curing their hangover with more booze.
Highlight: All-you-can-eat cold cuts for breakfast? Endless grilled chicken? Just leave room for that bottle of Campo Viejo or return visits to the pop-up gin bar.
9 Ekkamai Soi 12, 063-267-7778. Open daily 11am-3pm, 6pm-midnight
