For the first time since 2013.

Canadian indie-rocker Mac DeMarco is set to perform live in Bangkok for the first time since 2013.

Busy gig promoter Have You Heard? made the announcement on Facebook today that the 28-year-old musician will play at Voice Space (BBD Building, 197 Viphavadi Rangsit Rd.) on Aug 1, with tickets going on sale at Ticketmelon.com this Friday (May 11) for B1,600.

Since releasing his debut album 2 in 2012, DeMarco has forged a name for his catchy indie-pop melodies, lo-fi sensibilities, occasionally raucous live shows and goofball online persona. Further albums Salad Days (2014) and This Old Dog (2017) have cemented his "slacker-rock" credentials, while DeMarco himself has described his sound as "jizz jazz."

DeMarco previously visited Bangkok way back in December 2013, when he packed out the dearly-missed Cosmic Cafe on RCA.

In other live music news, the sane promoter's Devendra Banhart concert on Jun 14, which is limited to 350 seats, has already sold.
