These mainstream punk legends have come a long way since their first 1996 concert at MBK Hall.

Well, this is a big one. Green Day defined the popular punk scene in the 90s and early 2000s. This February, Green Day—with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Trey Cool—will be hitting Impact Arena on Feb 12, 2025.

Credited with reviving mainstream punk with their 10x platinum diamond status “Dookie” in 1994, Bangkok knows Green Day because the band hit the city 28 years ago with their first showing in Thailand in 1996 at MBK’s Maboonkrong center. The band would play once more in 2010, and were scheduled to play in March 2020, but Covid hit.

Everyone rocked out to the teen angst of “American Idiot,” Green Day’s epic 2004 album, and this band—even though they’re getting a little long in the tooth—have kept the hits coming. “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Basket Case,” “When I Come Around,” “Good Riddance”—this seminal group just doesn’t quit. In January of this year, Green Day dropped their 14th studio album, "Saviors,” which debuted on top of seven Billboard charts—with “The American Dream Is Killing Me” single hitting #1 on Billboard Rock & Alternative Airplay.

The tickets back in 1996 were B400, but you’ll need to pony up anywhere between B2,800 and 6,800 for their next show.

The Bangkok concert this Feb will be held at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani, announced as the final stop on their Southeast Asia tour. Presale for tickets is available from 10am-10pm on Oct 4 next month, and general sale tickets are available on Oct 5 here
