One of the city’s most centrally located hotels, lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok, is having a huge carnival-style event to celebrate its 2nd anniversary in Bangkok, complete with tons of activities and special promotions.
The event, dubbed “September 2 Remember”, happens this Sep 28, which we are told is the hotel’s lucky number. The whole day follows some familiar carnival themes: Bozo the Clown, entertainers in carnival costumes, festival music, and lots of color. Just like a real carnival, there are lots of booths to play games for prizes, and workshops teaching you how to make keychains. There is also a massive Instagram-style frame where you can take photos that make it look like you are in an Instagram feed, and then post them on your Instagram feed for some kind of meta IG post.
There’s plenty of reasons to bring the kids along as well, including fun painting workshops and easy games where they can win a fun carnival doll to take home.
Part of what will make the atmosphere at the event is the live music performances. At daytime, this will be an acoustic band, and in the evening the vibes turn electronic as a DJ takes over.
There are booths with plenty of craft beers as well—and if you are a guest staying at any property under the Ascott group, you can show your keycard to receive a free beer.
Of course, there is going to be plenty of food to sink your teeth into. For Isaan fans, a booth from Kai Yang Tai Soi will be dishing out ample portions of grilled chicken and spicy jim jeaw and somtam. There will also be coconut ice cream from Mahachai, which might help cool the spicy bites.
The hotel is ideal for solo travelers or couples looking for an affordable stay without skimping on quality. The rooms are beautifully painted with Thai art and feature vibrant, colorful interior designs, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
On the amenities side, the hotel features a rooftop lounge and lush green garden to help unwind for the bustle of Bangkok. There’s also communal spaces where you can arrange different fun activities or use as a legitimate co-working space, making it a great choice for digital nomads and millennial-minded travelers. The space's shared kitchen also includes a fridge where you can easily store ingredients from the market or grocery store to cook later. If you are too lazy to cook (like we are) don’t miss the venue’s “bites and delights” breakfast, which includes pastries, cereals, yogurt, Thai drinks, and egg cooking stations.
The hotel's experience-led social living space provides a unique approach to accommodation in Bangkok, facilitating interaction among diverse residents through shared amenities. Features include a combined laundromat and coffee area.
The hotel is currently offering a promotion: guests pay for two nights and receive a third night free. This offer includes flexible check-in times. The promotion can be booked from now until October 22, 2024, for stays from now until November 22, 2024. For booking details, interested parties can visit the hotel's website.
Updates are available through the hotel's social media channels @lyf.sukhumvit8 and lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok.
