Bangkok is revving up for a tuk-tuk drive-in music festival this weekend
Win tickets to see big-name Thai acts like Potato, Palmy, Taitosmith and more.
From flea markets to pop-up cinemas, drive-in events seem to be the “new normal” in the era of Covid-19. This Aug 8, Bangkok will welcome a very Thai take on the craze with The Amazing Thailand Tuk Tuk Festival, a drive-in “Thai-style” concert attended by fleets of colorful tuk-tuks.
With a view to stimulating domestic tourism and the economy, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has teamed up with media company Woody World and party organizer ZAAP for the event, which will see more than 200 iconic three-wheeled tuk-tuks bringing concertgoers into the event. Inside, guests will be able to enjoy plenty of delicious Thai food and drinks, while grooving to live music from big-name local artists like Potato, Palmy, Joey Boy, Stamp Apiwat, Three Man Down, Taitosmith and more.
For a fun and worry-free environment, the concert will enact strict safety measures, such as social distancing via private tuk-tuks, having food served by butlers, hand sanitizer stations and health screening at the entrance points. For a chance to win tickets and for more information, head to the event’s official Facebook page. Note that tickets are available via the online competitions only.
