FILM: The 60 Second Film Festival

The annual festival devoted to super-shorts returns under the theme "Re-Mixing Thai Culture." All genres, styles and subjects are accepted, the only stipulation being that all films must be 60 seconds or less in duration, including titles and credits. A total 60 films to be included on the main program on Dec 1. Prizes include B60,000 for the best film, B20,000 for best director and B20,000 for "most-in-theme" film. Siwilai City Club teams up with hip Indonesian lifestyle group Potato Head to present an international line-up of DJs (Eric Duncan AKA Dr.Dunks, Pete Herbert, GERO, and Alex IMIX), special sustainable cocktails by Potato Head’s mixologists, art installations by Azuma Makoto AKA AMKK and Phahonchai Premjai, and a limited edition collection from a Potato Head pop-up store.

ART: Kraisak at Cho Why

1984 Silaprakorn graduate Kraisak Chirachaisakul takes over the whole of Cho Why, featuring two distinct shows. The first, an extension of his blurred memory show from CICA Museum in Korea, will occupy the first floor, while a second featuring his iconic series of Royal portraits will show on the upper floor.

ART: Girls

A 10-year retrospective of Luo Yang’s photography focusing on bold and intimate film portraits of Chinese women that explore femininity and its place in contemporary society. FESTIVAL: 808 Festival

808 Festival is back for its sixth edition at Live Park Rama 9 presenting various styles of music from EDM, electronic and trap to trance and dubstep. The first phase lineup has revealed trance icon Armin van Buuren of Dutch radio station A State of Trance, American EDM sensation Skrillex, Israeli psytrance DJ duo Vini Vici, and first-time local performances from Rezz, TroyBoi and Whethan.

FESTIVAL: Wonderfruit Festival

This environmentally-friendly festival puts a big emphasis on social responsibility and sustainability. Beyond music, the festival also brings art installations, food, workshops, wellness, family activities and talks on sustainability, which last year resulted in being presented with a certificate from Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) for reducing their carbon emissions to zero. The four-day festival's fifth edition takes place at The Field, Siam Country Club, Pattaya, with a lineup including British hip-hop producer Nightmares on Wax, drum ‘n’ bass pioneer Goldie, rising Chicago rapper Kweku Collins, Thai-Swedish pop singer Sirintip, genre-hopping Amsterdam DJ Young Marco, reggae-loving New Zealand producer and multi-instrumentalist Lord Echo, Thai reggae legends Job2do, Malaysian R'n'B singer NJWA and Burning Man-approved Fleetwood Mac remix project Fleetmac Wood. FILM: Global Migration Film Festival

The annual by the UN Migration Agency is back for the third year in Thailand, screening movies that celebrate filmmakers, many of whom were immigrants themselves, making movies about a world on the move.
