20 things to do in Bangkok this weekend (Nov 28- Dec 1)
Pool parties, Thanksgiving, raves, wine tastings, crafts, cabaret, and, yes, the first Christmas events are already here.
We may not have the biggest festivals in the country this weekend, but Bangkok is still a wild place to be. Of course, the US isn’t exactly the flavor of the month right now, but we’ll take any excuse to stuff our face with Thanksgiving. We have big comedy coming in the form of Raul Kohli, pool parties at So Bangkok, and a full-on discotheque party at Bangkok Island.
Trade the turkey for Latin cuisine at Carmina for the likes of citrus-marinated seafood, ceviche Amarillo, and Peruvian treats—topped off with a slow-roasted Peruvian chicken and a choice of desserts. More info here, Carmina
They’ve been running their soft opening for a while now, but this new space is finally going all out on a grand opening party. Expect wild performances from the troupe at Madame Rouge accompanied by an open bar from 9-10pm, and DJ sets from Sadia, Spencer, and CCraig. They’re going for 70’s New York glam. CALM’s legendary clash returns for its third edition. The goal: Conquer the bar by finishing each keg of Chang Lager. Every 20L keg brings new discounts, and if all six kegs are finished, the seventh keg is free flow for everyone. Beam returns to Thonglor and hosts La Mamie’s, a Parisian DJ collective known for blending house with jazz, reggae, and eclectic influences. They’ve previously performed at Unaharn’s anniversary, Wonderfruit, and Shi Fu Miz Festival. Opening sets come from Bangkok locals XTC's Bunnyman & Psynus, and Praw, a DJ and fashion designer. Jade Rouge and her gaggle of hotties are back as The Cabaret Extravaganza returns for its second season in a new venue at Hemingway’s Bangkok. Discotheque from Shibuya, Tokyo, arrives in Bangkok for a special edition aboard the Bangkok Island. The event combines live art, music, and performances during a four-hour cruise on the Chao Phraya. Be there for take-off at 6pm. The top deck features live graffiti by artists from Japan and Thailand. The main deck offers sets from DJs and MCs like Tomoth and Chiku, Tete Z and Mitroff PCS, and MC Coga.
