Even with the slump in the fashion scene Down Under, we still manage to spot a gem.

The recent acquisition of Aussie womenswear brand Dion Lee by local boutique Inhabit The Other Store, is perhaps a sign of better things to come for the Australian fashion scene.

Bear in mind though, the clothes don't come cheap (mostly from $1,000 upwards for a simple dress), but they're absolutely subtle, wearable and versatile—how womenswear should be in this day and age.

At the launch of the collection, the eponymous designer himself was in town to take the press through a selection of pieces that exude a supreme sense of athletic minimalism, like a statement-making black dress with sculptural shoulders that are perfect for parties, and a series of sheer black blouses that will look great for both work and play.
