Eat, drink, shop: these new openings have you covered.

Freeze Frozen Yogurt

The store: We never realized Lad Phrao was this cool until photos of this pastel pink dessert shop started bombarding our Instagram feed. Situated right next door to the hip Organic Supply, Freeze Frozen Yogurt is a two-unit store selling clothing under the name Thieves Studio as well as a range of house-made frozen yogurt. Expect to find secondhand apparel, footwear and accessories from Thai and international brands including Greyhound and Sretsis.
What else? You can enjoy Freeze’s frozen yogurt (starting at B79 with one topping) alone, as a soda float (B89) or parfait (B169-179) with homemade toppings like crumble, brownie and sauces.
Nak Niwat Road, Lad Prao Soi 71, 095-164-6551. Open Tue-Sun 11am-8pm. www.fb.com/freezefroyo

Printa Cafe and Glazziq

The store: The hip Pan Road just welcomed another lifestyle cafe that combines coffee and brunch with shopping. Printa Cafe doubles as a shop for its owner’s glasses brand, Glazziq. The simple designs come in a variety of colors, gradients and materials with prices starting from B1,990. But do note that the models shown at the cafe are only samples—you need to order online to get the products delivered at home.
What else? The cafe offers a spicy twist on the classic breakfast. Try the Healthy Benedict, in which they use slightly sweeter toast topped with mashed avocado, poached egg and Sriracha sauce (B190).
36/2 Pan Rd., 095-542-4575. Open daily 7:30am-6pm. www.fb.com/printacafe

Tentacles

The store: Artist-led initiative Tentacles upped sticks from Thonglor to open a cafe and art store in Yannawa. Part of the same art-driven warehouse complex as Gallery Ver, the space sells art supplies and hosts creative workshops that focus on embroidery, painting and pottery.
What else? Aeropress coffee starts from B60 and French press from B90. There is also loose leaf (B120 per pot) and infusion tea (B100 per pot), and Italian sodas (B65). Easy bites include all-day breakfast (cheese and sweetcorn scrambled eggs with salad and toast, B120), three-cheese grilled sandwiches (B130) and tagliatelle pasta with homemade pesto (B180).
2198/10-11 Narathiwas Soi 22, 089-117-3434 and 082-487-1487. Open Tue-Sun 11am-9pm

(Un) Fashion Dining

The store: Ekamai Mall’s hip vintage shop-cum-cafe has spread its wings and opened a proper restaurant in the same complex. The wood-heavy space gives out a chill, beach-y vibe offering proper dining along with a shopping zone packed with new home decor items imported from the US. Highlights range from bags and shoes to magazines and kitchenware.
What else? On top of the coffee and desserts you could already expect from the original cafe, the food menu covers the likes of rocket salad, sandwiches, Japanese curry rice (all B185), larb moo (B230), thin-crust pizza (starting at B185) and boiled Canadian lobster (starting at B780).
Ekkamai Mall, Ekkamai Soi 10, 099-527-9053. Open Wed-Sun 11am-10pm and Mon 11am-10pm. www.fb.com/unfashionvintage

Zombie Books

The store: RCA’s new bookstore is also a bar—with a gallery and co-working space thrown in, too.  The single-room bookstore features mostly Thai literature, translations of international books and the occasional English title. You can also expect to find plenty of older novels, box sets and even secondhand copies.
What else? On the second floor you’ll find a co-working and gallery space, while the retro-themed 1970s Bar is hidden on the third floor, home to live bands from Fri-Sat, vintage arcade games and ice-cold Singha.
RCA Block D, 21/118 Soi Soonvijai, Rama 9 Rd. Open 10:30am-9pm and Tue-Sun 10:30am-midnight. www.fb.com/z.books.rca

Method to My Madness

The store: The vintage enthusiasts behind popup market staple Cheap and Cheerful have brought a dose of Charoenkrung hipster chic to Ladprao. Method to My Madness has grown from a vintage store to a bar and has plans for more to come. Ladies can hunt out ‘70s floral dresses on the second floor as their guy digs around for deadstock denim jackets which the owner carries back from where he traveled to.
What else? Downstairs is all about food, drink and music. The solid bites include the MMM Munchy Burger (B250), spaghetti Bolognese (B180) and classic Thai-style fried chicken with pandanus leaves (B120), all of which can be washed down with Singha beer (B110). The space is open for events, too, with the occasional film screening and live band dropping by—expect to see some popup markets, music theme parties and talks in the future.
Lad Phrao Rd., 085-356-3447. Open Tue-Sun 5pm-1am. bit.ly/1MygDhC
