On Sep 25-29, Sofitel So Bangkok (2 Sathorn Rd., Bangkok, 02-624-0000) will host its first major culinary event, So Amazing Chefs. Resident chefs Nicholas A. Vienne and Paul Smart will be joined by 10 chefs from around the world (all members of the Village de Chefs association), including Chef Patrick Jeffroy, whose eponymous restaurant holds two Michelin stars. Aiming for fun rather than pretention, the 12 chefs will host cooking classes (B2,900-B3,499), lunches (B900) and dinners (starting at B3,999 for six courses). Their expertise ranges from Breton to Balinese cuisine, so expect global flavors with an emphasis on local produce. Sign up early for the classes—they have a cozy 10-person limit.
