The Smokin' Pug to leave Surawong for a location three times as big.

The Smokin’ Pug, Surawong's perpetually packed out barbecue restaurant, is set to move.

In an interview with the Bangkok Foodies website this week, restaurant proprietor Dana Garber revealed she and her husband Daniel will say farewell to their tiny shop-house for a space three times as big on Langsuan Road.

Garber said the new spot is expected to open on Nov 1 offering the same menu, plus a few new signature dishes. The old location on Surawong Road, by the way, will turn into a cocktail bar run by a different team.

Since opening at the start of 2015, The Smokin' Pug has reigned supreme among Bangkok’s American barbecue places for its incredibly tender smoked ribs, deliciously smoky bourbon cocktails and pair of owners who know how to work the room. No surprise, then, that they took out the Readers' Choice award for Best Ribs in BK's Best Eats 2017 guide to Bangkok's top comfort food.

While we'll miss The Smokin' Pug's old cramped confines, we're looking forward to the prospect of getting our barbecue fill without needing to book in advance.

For now, you can visit Smokin' Pug at 88 Surawong Rd., 083-029-7598. Open Tue-Sun 5-11pm
